Why I Joined: I learned about the club because I was a finalist in the New Year, New You contest. I’m so busy with four children that I figured I needed more support and encouragement to keep myself motivated.
My Goal: Since I had a baby 30 years ago, I’ve lost the same 60 pounds three times! I’d like to lose the weight for good.
I’ve also been watching The Biggest Loser and a few of the contestants have been able to go off high-blood-pressure pills. I would never do that without talking to my doctor first, but I’d love to be able to do the same.
My Challenge: I’m an emotional eater, so I eat whenever things go wrong. For example, I went up to 262 pounds 17 years ago when my daughter was diagnosed with childhood cancer.
A Word from the Wise: Changing routine helps. Instead of doing four miles a day for seven days a week, I’ll do four miles on the treadmill for five days inside and on the weekend do two miles outside.
My workout buddy is also a huge help. I’ve known her for years, so we know each other’s challenges and problems; we also help each other come up with different ways to exercise.

Glad you are part of the Club! I, too, hope to get off blood pressure meds. (I'm a huge Biggest Loser fan!)
A buddy is definitely a good motivator. I like your idea for changing up your routine, too. Your body does get used to a workout, and if you get bored with it you're less likely to stick with it.
