Why I Joined: To lose the 40 pounds I put on in college. They don’t want to come off on their own. It’s been five years, and it’s time.
My Goal: To establish (and maintain) an exercise routine no matter what my work schedule, and to make eating healthy fun.
My Challenge: Social sabotage! My friends love to go out for dinner and drinks, and I find it really hard to order a salad when everyone else is eating oh-so-yummy fried foods.
A Word from the Wise: Last time I lost a significant amount of weight, I had a treadmill in the house. It worked because it was convenient and easy. I find that to succeed I have to make the exercise routine fit my life.

Social pressure is such a
Social pressure is such a hard thing to overcome with weight loss -- so many of our social activities revolve around food! One way I cope with this is to give myself permission to eat only the foods that are truly "special" to an event, or at least not waste calories on stuff I could eat anytime. Like at a wedding, I make sure to eat a piece of wedding cake -- but I try to skip food I could eat anytime, like dinner rolls. That way I don't feel too deprived. Just not quite so full!
As far as exercise...please share any tips you come up with along the way! :)
