Although Eva Longoria Parker's charitable efforts may not be as publicized as some of her other Hollywood counterparts, the actress donates lots of her time and money towards several charitable organizations.
Most of them relate to her Latino roots, according to GNN.com.
"She pours her free time and energy into raising millions of dollars for charitable missions that make a difference in the Latino community and other humanitarian organizations," said Eric Mika, publisher of the Hollywood Reporter.
Longoria Parker serves as a spokeswoman for Padres Contra El Cancer (Parents Against Cancer), an organization that improves the lives of children living with cancer and their families.
Making use of her Hollywood credentials, the actress was an executive producer of The Harvest, a documentary that focused on the 500,000 child farm workers in America, most of whom are Latino.
In 2006, the Desperate Housewives star created Eva's Heroes, a nonprofit in her hometown of San Antonio that provides after-school programs for those with developmental disabilities. This effort is close to Longoria Parker's heart, as her older sister, Elizabeth, is mentally challenged.
