Face Time
Guideposts joins the Facebook nation.
All right, I’m coming clean.
I’ve been spending a lot of work time on Facebook, the online social networking site that millions of people use to stay connected to family, friends and like-minded people.
No, I’m not goofing off on company time.
Actually, GUIDEPOSTS has a Facebook fan page of its own now. It’s a great way for me to see and hear what you have to say (we already have some 5,000 fans!). Better still, it’s a great way for you to talk to each other, and that’s what I like about it best—the community aspect. People love to talk.
The two things that impress me most is how young our fans on Facebook are and how…not-so-young too. Who said the older generation didn’t use the internet?
There’s Margaret Calhoun of Monroe, Louisiana. She’s 82, retired, has read GUIDEPOSTS “forever” and is a real enthusiast of our Facebook page. She has a page of her own too, of course. “I bet I’m the oldest person on FB!” she e-mailed me.
Social networking sites have exploded recently, and in many ways they’re not so different from what GUIDEPOSTS has been doing for 65 years—bringing people together around shared values.
Digital technology has simply made it easier and faster for people to connect and share their stories. As someone posted on the page a while back, “I love coming here because it lets me meet other GUIDEPOSTS readers every day and be inspired by them.”
Connecting. That’s what we humans have always needed to do. No one is an island, especially in this digital age. And especially at Christmas, when reuniting with family and friends is one of the greatest joys of the season.
Why not celebrate a little more by becoming a fan of GUIDEPOSTS on our Facebook page? You’ll meet some interesting and inspiring people there (Hi, Margaret!). I did.

1. Log in to your Facebook account.
2. Go to the Guideposts page, either by typing Guideposts in Facebook's search box or by visiting the following link:

3. Once you are on the Guideposts page, click the "Become a Fan" button at the top. You will then start to see status updates from Guideposts appear in your feed.

I love Guidepost have been a member for years off and on, when was not a member a friend and I was sharing. Now I am in a condo association with older and handicap people so I share mine here with others now.
I am a member of Facebook, how do i link in with Guideposts facebook. I did not see any way to get a friend invite.
