The news that Farrah Fawcett had died yesterday was greeted with sadness, though not surprise. For the past three years, the actress had been fighting a very public battle with cancer, and despite her valiant efforts, she had recently returned to the hospital. Fawcett was 62 years old.

The TV special Farrah's Story, which aired in May, documented the recurrence of her illness, her years of treatment, her victories and struggles. What it revealed was a beautiful, strong woman who never gave up hope, despite overwhelming odds. Through it all, the love of her life, Ryan O'Neal, was by her side.

In the '70s, Fawcett became an icon as much for her role in Charlie's Angels as for her trademark leonine locks and sunny good looks. In more recent years, Fawcett received critical acclaim for serious roles in films like Robert Duvall's The Apostle.

When, in 2007, Fawcett's doctors told her that she was in remission, she released the following statement:

"In the face of excruciating pain and uncertainly, I never lost hope and it never occurred to me to stop fighting—not ever. This experience has also humbled me by giving me a true understanding of what millions of others face each day in their own fight against cancer....I am deeply grateful to my team of physicians, my loving and supportive family and devoted friends who have sustained me as I battled this terrible disease, strengthened by my faith in God and the encouragement of so many."

The world has lost an Angel, but her positive attitude lives on.

I always liked Farrah. I do

I always liked Farrah. I do also pray that she knew our Lord afore she died. She was a good actress. The unfortunate thing was that all the studios did believe she could act in a serious story such as "The Burning Bed", & "The Apostle" as she was such a pretty woman. There were so many lies written & printed about her. It's as I always say, people will & do accuse a person of doing things, but God & the person being accused are the only one who know exactly what happened. I do pray that her family is comforted by knowing that she is no longer suffering & she is also in a much better & peaceful place. Our son who was 8 or 9 years old enjoyed watching Charlie's Angels reruns 2 or 3 years ago on tv. He watched the action. Compared to today's shows "Charlie's Angels" is tame in regards to the violence in the show. He got into it so he knew who the 3 girls characters were. He actually enjoyed a 30 year old show.

What I will remember about

What I will remember about Ms. Fawcett is that unlike some other "stars" she didn't go from one marriage to the next but had two serious relationships, her marriage to Lee Majors and then her relationship with Ryan McNeal. Perhaps she didn't live a life completely according to God's wishes but there was obviously a deep and abiding love between her and Mr. McNeal. I hope her loved ones can find peace now and I also hope that her son can free himself from his drug addiction.

Farrah was so beautiful. I

Farrah was so beautiful. I am just so saddened that we never heard her talk about knowing Jesus. I do pray that she didn't leave this world with the joys and struggles, pain and happiness without having put her faith in God. I do pray that God will bless her family in their loss of this special lady!

I have been very impressed

I have been very impressed with Farrah; she has really has been a great person. What I like the most is she is real and she let us see that, her family has problems like so many others, but you carry on. She was beautiful and talented. I am thankful Farrah and her family made the TV program for all of us to share. There are many people with problems, with sickness or not, that can benefit from her courage and positive outlook. God Bless her family and friends.
