Healing Hands

Healing is a physical as well as a spiritual endeavor, as any massage therapist will tell you. So it seemed fitting when one of my patients presented me with an angel figurine for my office.

The angel seemed so at home there that she inspired an entire collection. 

Angels are sometimes called the messengers of light because their job is to carry down from heaven a glimmer of God's enormous love to illuminate our lives here on earth. My favorite figurines, like a bisque candle holder, my lead crystal angel and a glorious 2-foot-tall angel made of stained glass, reflect that loving light. 

Of course, each angel in my collection is precious to me. But the most important angels in my office are always the real angels who make a special trip down from heaven to bless those trying to improve their health. One patient told me that he actually saw angels surround him during our session! 

Although I can sense their healing presence, I personally have never seen the real angels in my office. The collection I keep there reminds me and my patients that with faith we can meet our physical challenges. No matter how weak we may feel at times, the strength of God's angels is all around us.
