Corey Wilson is determined that the injuries he sustained in a car accident earlier this year will not prevent him from walking again.
On February 27, the University of Oklahoma football player's vehicle hit a parked truck and he was thrown from the car. He woke up by the side of the road, unable to feel his legs.
In the following days, doctors performed emergency surgery on Wilson, but they ended up telling him he would remain partially paralyzed from the waist down, with little hope of fully using his legs again.
But Wilson has made it clear he intends to fight that diagnosis through physical therapy, determination and a strong faith in God.
At a recent media day, Wilson told the Dallas News, "I feel like God tells me what I'm going to do. As long as he keeps telling [me] that I can do it, I'll keep working."
He said he also maintains a positive attitude, refusing to think of himself as "disabled."
Wilson said he plans to continue attending college and wants to walk out on the field with his team at the end of the season.
