Why I Joined: I’m looking for advice and inspiration to help me with my fitness goals, but I’d also like to help others by sharing what I’ve learned.
My Goal: I want to lose enough weight that I feel healthy and full of energy, am a better role model for my children, and can live a long, healthy life with my husband and family. Long-term: I’d like to use my psychology degree to help others overcome eating disorders.
My Challenge: My husband is in the military and when he’s deployed, I can get very stressed about being both mommy and daddy to five children. It’s tempting to just pick up Burger King on hectic days.
A Word from the Wise: Always remember that there are no easy fixes—no pill or fad diet is going to work. The only way to do this right is by eating lots of fruits and vegetables, eating lean meats, drinking lots of water, exercising, and getting a good night’s sleep. Just believe in yourself and keep your eye on the prize!
I went from a size 3X to a 1X shirt, so I like to keep a picture of myself at my highest weight on my fridge, to remind myself of what I don't want to go back to. I also like to hang a shirt that’s one size smaller on my closet door--it keeps me focused and inspired!
