Many of us consider our pets members of our families. Their loyalty and comfort are qualities we cherish and their companionship is invaluable.
Just as we do for the people in our lives, we pray for our pets—wishing them long, healthy and happy lives, and hoping they conquer their fears and overcome challenges.
So whether you have a dog, cat, bird, horse or any other kind of animal, send us a photo of your pet and a prayer request. We'll post them here on the site and maybe you'll be able to see a positive change in your special friend when the whole Guideposts community has him or her in their thoughts. And if you want to pray or send a message to any of the pets below, comment here.
Gus-Gus
Owner: Lacy Province, Oregon City, OR
Prayer: Please send a prayer up for our Angus "Gus-Gus" (Cairn Terrier).
He needs a healing prayer for his liver and kidneys. His last blood test came back with high liver values and that is bad. He is also having problems with too much protein in his urine. He is such a loving little fellow. He had a life on the streets before we found him seven years ago. He is much loved and the sweetest of God's creatures. Please pray for him. God bless you all - Lacy, Mike, Gus-Gus, Robbie and Rosie.
Rascal
Owner: Steve Best, Owensboro, KY
Prayer: We just recently got back from a routine visit to our vet and discovered our dog has bone cancer in his right front leg. We believe in the power of prayer and had a bandana prayed over by our pastor and then we put it on his leg and have been praying for him everyday. We would ask that anyone who reads this would say a prayer for our dog Rascal that God would heal him of his bone cancer and give us a few more years with our beloved pet.
Thank you ahead of time and God bless - Steve Best and family.
Sage
Owner: Connie Bartlett, Kennesaw, GA
Prayer: Please pray for our kitty Sage. She is 8-months-old and is in surgery for a diaphramatic hernoa repair. She is only getting a 50/50 chance of survival but I know that God and prayer can increase those survival chances to 100%. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and may God bless you all.
Champagne
Owner: Nancy Borrell, Port Saint Lucie, FL
Prayer: Dear Lord, please keep my beloved Champagne happy and healthy for as long as you possibly can and when you take her home Lord, please let it be peacefully in her sleep, in bed with me.....just a nice easy transition over to the other side is exactly what this sweet, loving companion deserves. Thank you God for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen, Nancy
Sugar
Owner: Yvonne Robinson, Tallapoosa, GA
Prayer: Please pray for our dog, Sugar. She was a stray that my cousin's wife found on the side of the road and saved. After she was fixed, she developed an infection. Her white blood count was very high. She was on two antibiotics and a pain medicine twice daily for over two years before her white blood count finally went down. However, we found out yesterday that she now she has kidney failure. She has about 20% function. At most, Sugar is probably 5-years-old. She is a sweet dog who loves everyone she meets. She never growls and has a sweet, puppy-like bark. Please pray that God will bless Sugar and keep her in our lives a little longer. Pray that she is not in pain. She has certainly been a blessing to us, especially to my mother who has been battling depression for years.
Picante
Owner: Jen Simmers, Waynesboro, PA
Prayer: Please pray for Jen's horse Picante (this is Jen's mom posting). He has been experiencing colic since January 14th, and while it seems to be an impaction, nothing we or the vets have done so far has cleared it. He is still uncomfortable and wants to roll, unless given painkillers, and we can't continue that much longer. Colic kills horses if they get down and roll, so we've been watching him almost 24/7 for the last 5 days. Please pray for his comfort, and that the impaction clears and his belly doesn't hurt him anymore. He needs to start drinking more water to get hydrated too.
Blackie
Owner: Sherry Kingston, Brooksville, KY
Prayer: Please pray for my cat, Blackie, who was diagnosed Saturday evening with severe anemia and not expected to live through the night. Miraculously she is still with us and struggling for her life.
Abby
Owner: Karen Trepasso, Grove City, PA
Prayer: Abby is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever who had a bad ankle and hip dysplasia since she was 4-months-old. She injured her growth plate in her ankle by falling down steps when she was first learning to go down them. When she grew her ankle didn't grow properly and she now has arthritis in it. Her hip dysplasia is genetic and has prevented her from being able to go for long walks or run at all. Consequently, she is overweight. weighing in at 130 lbs. Recently, Abby had a horrible accident. While out laying in the snow watching our other two inside dogs play in the snow, she stood up to join them and upon doing so, she let out a yelp and fell to the ground. My dad carried her to the house and we looked to see what was wrong. The next morning we took her to the vet and found out that she had torn the ACL in her left rear knee. This may not seem bad but for Abby it’s worse because of her other complications. She can't support all her weight on one back leg. On top of this, we lack the money for her surgery. At a specialist it costs $2800 and for a local vet $700. Abby is going to need a Doggon' Wheel doggie wheelchair for recovery, because it takes months to heal and she can't walk on three legs. We as her family want the best for her, (we have now put her on a strict diet), but need help. Please pray for her. She is a wonderful dog, if you have any thoughts on what we can do please let me know. My husband is laid off and I have been off work with surgery. Please pray for our beautiful girl!
Pee Pees
Owner: Pee Pees Regalado, Baldwin Park, CA
Prayer: Please pray for my family member Pee Pees. We had to put her to sleep. She had bone cancer in her knee and possibly in her hip as well. We feel guilty for doing so, because we feel we could have done more for her. She was 12-years-old with a wonderful personality. She would talk with her eyes and she was very demanding on getting what she wanted, which of course we would always give in to. Our wish is that she is with us all the time and that one day we will be together again. She was not just a Chihuahua, she was our child. We miss her so much!
Scout
Owner: Roselle Massey, Burbank, IL
Prayer: Our beloved Scout, an 8-year-old German Shepherd developed a cough before Christmas. Antibiotics did not work. She was breathing heavy, so we took her to the Animal hospital. After an x-ray, they said she was in sad shape. She was dehydrated, and her lungs are filled with fluid and she has Pneumonia. She is on an IV and strong antibiotics, but after a day, there is no improvement. Please pray for Scout.
Jeb
Owner: Theresa McIntyre, Melrose, NY
Prayer: Please pray for Jeb, who is not doing well. He won't eat and keeps falling down. He has brought so much joy to our lives and we can't imagine the days ahead without him. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
Brewster and Abby
Owner: Tina Evers, Waxhaw, NC
Prayer: Please pray for my cat Brewster and my dog Abby. We recently rescued a puppy who was diagnosed with a non-contagious form of mange. The diagnosis was incorrect in that it was the contagious form of mange. The puppy got better and has been adopted out, but nothing seems to be making my cat better and our dog Abby keeps getting reinfected (we are also bothered a bit as well). Please pray for healing and treatment. The poor cat has to be in isolation and has never had to be isolated in her 9 years. We would love to see an end to this for the animals as well as us. Thank you for your prayers.
Zoey
Owner: Stephany Corral, Carson City, NV
Prayer: Please pray for the safe, unharmed return of our lost dog Zoey.
She has been gone for 6 days in the snow and cold. Thank you so much.
Beau
Owner: Debbie Adams, Galax, VA
Prayer: Beau is 15½-years-old and is very much loved. I know John and I have been blessed to have him this long, and I also know we can't keep him forever. Beau's kidneys are beginning to show signs of aging, as are his eyes and rear legs. He is being treated by a vet who feels his problems can be controlled. Please pray for the vet as she treats Beau that she will have wisdom. Also, I request prayer for Beau that he not suffer or be afraid. My husband and I need your prayers as well. Thank you for caring.
Ozzy
Owner: Anita Conner, Kinston, NC
Prayer: Our 2½ year old Golden Retriever, Ozzy, swallowed a chamois (drying cloth) and hasn't eaten since Christmas Day and has drank very little. The vet has him on IV fluids. He continues to throw up and has been unable to use the bathroom. His blood work is good and a stomache x-ray didn't show anything. He has been extremely sick and weak since Christmas. The vet said he may have to do surgery if Ozzy doesn't pass the rest of the chamois cloth. Please pray that God will heal Ozzy without surgery - he has suffered so much already. I'm praying that God will heal and restore him with a quick, supernatural miracle! Thanks for your prayers of agreement.
Pretty Flower
Owner: Sarah Hudgins, Elk Mountain, WY
Prayer: This is Pretty Flower, I've had her since I was five-years-old and she's never been away from my side very long. She has recently been getting sick on and off and now has tape worms. I am also going away to college soon and getting an apartment because I'm rooming. I ask that she be healed of all her sicknesses and illnesses and that I find a place where she can live with me. Thank you.
Carrie
Owner: Elaine Kaufman, Cleveland, OH
Prayer: Our dog Carrie is extremely shy and fearful. Last Fall, to our surprise, she began to try to make friends with a few small dogs in our neighborhood. Her fearfulness prevented this from happening so we looked and found a puppy who is loving, lively and outgoing, a perfect opposite match for Carrie's personality. Everything was fine as the girls played and chased each other until July when Carrie decided to become the alpha-female. Carrie now growls and goes after Ellie Bell, who constantly tries to engage her in play. Please pray that Carrie discontinues seeing Ellie as a competitor for our affection and attention. Pray that Carrie will return to the playful "big sister" that she had been.
Buffy
Owner: Judy Fathauer, Dcatur, IL
Prayer: My 9-year-old little Pomeranian, Buffy, had a tumor removed from her lip in February. It was class 3 mast cell carcinoma. They gave her 2 months to live. Now it has spread to her neck. There is one small tumor and one large one. The vet gave her high doses of predisone to shrink them. So far it is working and so Buffy may have a few more months to live. I feel like God has given her to me a little while longer as she is still terminal. She is my little baby and companion. I'm a handicapped senior. She rides on my mobility chair with me.
Buster
Owner: Melanie Estright, Tyrone, PA
Prayer: Thank you for the prayer requests for my dog, Buster. I regret to inform you that Buster went to Heaven 12/23/09. Buster was suffering from the swollen lymph nodes pressing on his bowels and we had to have him put to sleep. He went peacefully with his family by his side. I miss Buster terribly. He was like one of the family. Please pray that Buster is safe in doggy Heaven with God watching over him until the day Buster and I can cross over the Rainbow Bridge together.
Miss Tweeters
Owner: Dawn Cumings, Wayne, MI
Prayer: Please pray for our Miss Tweeters. She has a severe intestinal infection and has not eaten for four days. We have been to the vet's three times, including twice for fluids. We have tried all her favorite foods but she won't eat. She is on antibiotics and we have special food to give her but she does not want any. She is so precious to us. She is only 6-years-old. We love her so much and don't want to lose her. Thank you for your prayers.
Rocky
Owner: Jackie Labatte, Mystic, CT
Prayer: My Rocky has been missing since October 3rd, 2009.
My prayer is that he comes back to me ans my son, safe and sound. We miss him. We need him back.
Morgan
Owner: Yvonne Westcott, Erieville, NY
Prayer: Morgan is 11½-years-old and has brought us much joy. She is having some problems with her hips, due to her age. Please pray for relief from the pain and restored mobility for her. She is such a great dog, and still is full of life, just slower. Thank you to everyone who prays for her. We are praying for your pets, as well. God bless you.
Emily Ann
Owner: Linda King, Woodridge, IL
Prayer: This is Emily Ann. She is the love of my life. She was just diagnosed this week with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia, a condition where her immune system is attacking and destroying her blood cells. She has been in the ICU at the hospital since last Thursday, has undergone a blood transfusion already and lots of other medications and procedures. She's only 8-years-old, and is just a little four-legged, hairy bundle of love. I miss her so much already, and most of my day is spent in prayer that God will heal her and bring her home to me. Please say a prayer to St. Francis and St. Jude that they will intercede for us and Emily Ann will begin to recover quickly. Thank you . . . and I will pray for all your pets, too. I know how much love our hearts hold for our pets.
Remy
Owner: Rene Warren, Woodstock, GA
Prayer: My Remy boy - an 8-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever, was diagnosed with a grade II mast cell tumor on Friday, December 18. The vet did not remove all of the tumor for the biopsy as it had entered a surrounding stomach wall muscle. I take him back on Monday, December 21 for further exams and determine the stage (how far it has spread). The vet may do further surgery that day if he determines anything further. Please pray for a Christmas miracle. I am praying for all of you that have posted your pets story on here.
Mandy
Owner: Charlotte Hoover, Lexington, KY
Prayer: Please pray for our 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Mandy. She was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure, a tumor on her liver, and kidney dysfunction. She almost died the week before Thanksgiving (2009) as a result of the heart failure. However, we are praising God for bringing her through that crisis and allowing us to bring her home to love even more until He decides that her time has come.
Kit
Owner: Tanya Scurry, Fontana, CA
Prayer: Please pray for the complete recovery of our baby, Kit. He's had surgery recently to remove a mass. We praise God for blessing us with the funds to pay for his care. The doctors who are caring for him are wonderful and provide excellent care for the pets. God bless all of you!
Snoopy
Submitted by: Lydia Jones, Nanaimo, CA
Prayer: Please pray for little Snoopy the Beagle. Snoopy's "dad", my friend Chris, is away from her on business right now, and Snoopy is staying with Chris's Mom. Snoops got sick today and had to be rushed to the vet. Pray for Chris too - he is heartbroken and very worried. Thank you all so much.
Abby
Owner: Debbie Hafermann, Port Edwards, WI
Prayer: Please say a prayer for my little angel, Abby. She is only 10-years-old and her liver is failing.
She is like a child to me and I can't stand the thought of losing her. Thank you.
Zoe
Owner: Andrew Mishler, Mechanicsburg, PA
Prayer: My Dog Zoe just got diagnosed with cancer today, December 8, 2009, and my whole family is really upset. All we can do at this point is give her pain reducers until she eventually goes to heaven. They say that she will only make it 4-6 weeks. She would be 8-years-old this March.
Madison
Owner: Diane Johnson, Grifton, NC
Prayer: My little 3 lb. Chihuahua barks a lot at everyone but me. She growls at my husband and the man we are staying with while our house is being remodeled from fire loss. This man threw something at her yesterday and I am concerned for her safety. My husband is in the hospital and she is there alone with him. Please pray that her disposition improves and that no one does anything to hurt her.
Pepper
Submitted by: Lynne Padgett, Nampa, ID
Prayer: Yesterday I asked for prayers for my friend's dog, Pepper. She had eye surgery for an ulcer and seems to be doing well. Pepper is wearing a cone, etc. Please keep praying for this older couples' pet. She is such an important part of their life. Pepper was a gift from my friend's brother a few years ago. Thanks for all of your prayers.

Mysti
Owner: Linda Shanks, Aurora, CO
Prayer: This is truly a miracle prayer request. My beautiful Great Dane Mysti has osteosarcoma. She had cancer treatments, but the cancer remained in her leg, although it didn't spread elsewhere. She still has a chance, but needs a miracle. Please pray that God will heal Mysti -- she only has a short time left if she doesn't experience a miracle! Thank you.
CoCo and Max
Owner: Lydia Rowan, Oak Island, NC
Prayer: We are a pastor's family without steady work or a church to serve for over a year and half. We can no longer financially keep our pets and have been unsuccessful to date placing them in loving homes. We have an 8-year-old female cat named CoCo and an 11-year-old small male dog named Max that was my parents' pet before they went home to be with Jesus. Please pray that we find homes soon as we are moving to Texas in only 10 days(!) to be near family and continue to look for jobs and a church to serve. Thank you.
Tai-Chi
Owner: Jo Ann Culver, Louisville, KY
Prayer: Please pray for my little dog Tai-Chi. He is a Chinese Crested Powder Puff who needs your prayers. Thank You.
Jellyroll
Owner: Edie Rhodes, Lafayette, LA
Prayer: My 9-year-old Sheltie, Jellyroll has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has had his right front leg amputated. He is recovering slowly with severe complications. His wound is wrapped with a saline pack to promote healing. Please pray for him to have peace and God-willing to survive and live a comfortable good many more years. He is so much a part of our family and I am struggling with what to do as far as his own needs. Perhaps pray for me to make the right decision for him also. Thank you everyone who reads this and just gives him a thought.
Jasper
Owner: Jeannie Hethrman, Marshall, VA
Prayer: I would love for everyone to pray for our beautiful little Miniature Schnauzer, Jasper. He is like a son to us. He is the most wonderful dog I have ever known. He is the most loving, smart dog you could imagine. My husband had a very bad stroke over 5 years ago and Jasper has been at his side every moment since. Its like he understands his "dad" and just wants to be by his side. He has a very bad heart and mitral value is very damaged. He still continues to run, play and enjoy his new brother, another Schnauzer. They keep each other going. The pup has been so much help in keeping Jasper going. He is almost 14-years-old so we know his time is limited but we just pray he doesn't suffer and enjoys what time he has left. Many thanks!
Jerry
Owner: Cliff Trainor, Welcome, MN
Prayer: Jerry will be 14-years-old on Dec. 5th and his general health and organ health is great for a 100 lb. dog his age. However he has arthritis in his hips and needs Rimadyl twice a day to be able to get up and move around. I'm unemployed and can't afford $5K hip replacements that would extend his life by years. We are having a Double-Dog birthday party for him and his son, Buddha, (5-years-old on November 30) on Saturday, December 5. Jerry Garcia has been the best dog I've ever had, and I've had lots of great ones! His son will shine in his time as the 4th generation Golden Retriever Labrador hybrid created but right now Jerry needs your prayers that he will be able to get up until he's 15-years-old, the same age as his grandfather made it to. He follows me like a pup, pushes his head through my legs and looks up and needs to constantly be touching me. Parting will be unbearable. Thank you very much.
Wyatt
Owner: Shelley Tancil, San Diego, CA
Prayer: Please pray that Wyatt's recurring ear infections will stop. He is a completely healthy boy but for his right ear. We don't want to keep getting him injected with chemicals. Thank you!
Dolly
Submitted by: Tiffany Streich, Hutchinson, MN
Prayer: Please pray for my mom's little 8-month-old chihuahua. She rescued her from Texas; her name is Dolly. She had many health problems including worms, fleas, and blindness in one eye. Dolly recently had surgery to have her eye removed and stitched up and has to wear a cone for 2 weeks. It is hard for her to eat and drink. So pray that she heals and she gets better.
Rocco and Bella
Owner: Karen Malena, Monroeville, PA
Prayer: I would appreciate prayers for my 5-month-old kittens Rocco and Bella. They have been diagnosed with a virus that could possibly mutate into a deadly feline disease. My husband and I are standing on our faith, believing that the Lord will keep them healthy and with us for many years. My husband calls them our blessing. Thank you so much for prayer.
Angelika
Owner: Virginia Muir, Valdez, AK
Prayer: Please help me pray for our Black German Shepherd, Angelika. She is a very high drive dog and I am a low drive great grammy. I am praying when I am home alone with her that she will mind me and slow down some. I love her very much and most of the time she is good but there are times when she gets too wild. Thank you for praying and I know God hears our prayers for our pets.
Penny
Submitted by: Judy Wacker, Elyria, OH
Prayer: Please pray for Penny, our "grandpuppy". She is in extreme pain - either from disc problems in her neck or a tumor pressing on a disc. She is seeing a specialist tomorrow, and they will then decide what to do from there. Penny is like my daughter and son-in-law's daughter, so this is devastating to them. Please pray that it will be clear what they should do.
Stray Cat
Submitted by: Angie Cason, Anderson, SC
Prayer: Please pray for this little stray cat that took up at my home. She is sick and I don't know what is wrong with her. She sits in the same spot alot. She makes this wheezing sound and her eyes are weak looking. Please pray for quick healing! You could also pray for my other pets also. Their names are Jasper, Sadie, Scaredy Cat and Sockie. Sadie needs to stop running up and down the fence and the excessive barking.
Thank you for this website!
Maverick
Owner: Mary Palmer, Ilion, NY
Prayer: Please pray for my cat Maverick. He has an eye problem. I have to wipe it everyday because it drains constantly. We have tried eye medicine but it didnt seem to help. He is 11-months-old. Prayer: Please pray that Tega will live a long life and continue to be in good health and good behavior. Pray that Tega will be able to live at a home with a backyard where he can run and play because he is happy and very energetic. Pray that Tega and his owner will continue to be happy together.
Stray Tabby
Submitted by: Hope Gajewski, Pendleton, IN
Prayer: A beautiful stray male tabby has become quite attached to my back patio. This little guy has totally warmed my heart. My husband has said no to any more pets. I feel desperate to find him a good home before our Indiana autumn nights turn to winter ones. I have called all of the local shelters within a 25 mile radius of my home and no one is accepting stray cats at this time. My heart is breaking and I want more than anything to do as God wishes. If that is to warm my husband up to the idea of another cat in the house, or to find him a good home. The cat, not my husband, HA! I would like to ask for prayer regarding the direction God would like me to go regarding my new found furry friend. I truly feel that this little tabby has found me for a reason. Thank you and God Bless,
Maddie
Owner: Connie Martin, Sylvan Springs, AL
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I can never praise your name enough for allowing me to have my hound dog, Maddie, for the almost 14 years of her life. Since my husband died unexpectedly at age 37 in September '02, this four-legged daughter has been my everything. Thank you for sending the article about another angel, Trixie. It came to my attention just as I was about to despair over the loss of my only canine child on 10/20/09. It had been me and Maddie against the world for the last 7 years. Continue to use Guideposts to accomplish your will. In Jesus name, Amen.
Molli
Owner: Kay Cruise, Omaha, NE
Prayer: Our Miniature Schnauzer, Molli, is 10-years-old. She had lymphoma and went through 4 months of chemo treatments and went into remission. Recently the lymphoma came back and she is currently undergoing another series of chemo treatments. She is a gentle, sweet, loving dog and her sister Milli stays close and keeps a good watch on her also. Any prayers for her continued progress would be appreciated by all of us. Thank you.
Bella
Owners: Gary and Chris Schaefer, Palm Desert, CA
Prayer: Please pray for Bella, our Mini Schnauzer. She is about 13 or 14-years-old (we are not sure, we rescued her from a shelter when she was probably about 7-years-old) and is in failing health. She is the sweetest dog we have known and have been blessed to have her in our lives. We love her dearly. More time with her would be a joy for us but we pray that what time she has remaining is peaceful and comfortable for her.
Daisy Bell
Submitted by: Jeanie Bagwell, Winnfield, LA
Prayer: My request is for Daisy, a young black Labrador mix. Daisy isn't a pet, though...not yet.
I volunteer with the Heart of Louisiana Humane Society, and Daisy is our longest-term foster dog. She was rescued from the pound as a tiny puppy along with 3 litter-mates and her mother. One year later, Daisy is the only one who remains with us. She's been adopted before, but she was returned because she wasn't a good fit for the home. She's a big dog with a lot of energy, and she gets overlooked in favor of smaller, calmer dogs. We will not give up on Daisy, but our hearts ache for her when she is overlooked again and again. She is such a special, wonderful girl, and she deserves a loving home and a bright future. Please find it in your hearts to pray for a good home for beautiful Daisy Bell.
Rowan
Owner: Robin Michel, Plantsville, CT
Prayer: I pray that Rowan likes other dogs, which will enable him to walk on the rails-to-trails path
and play at the doggie park in town.
L.D.
Owner: Glenna Kolvek, Scott Depot, WV
Prayer: Please pray for our beloved Bichon Frise, L.D. He is at least 18-years-old and is in 2nd stage kidney failure. He has some issues with his back which limits his activity somewhat on certain days. Other days, thanks be to God, he seems fine. I pray to be able to manage his kidney failure as long as is God's will. We've been through this before with our Cocker Spaniel. There is a special story about L.D. which is a true testimony of faith and God's love for me, my husband and our beloved Cocker Spaniel of 16-years-old prior to L.D.'s arrival. Keely, our other Bichon is 10-years-old and has been with L.D. his entire life. I worry about him when L.D. finally has to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. He needs prayer for his feelings also.
Wally and Zoey
Owner: Denise Wofford, Jennings, FL
Prayer: Please pray for Wally and Zoey, two of our feline fur-kids. Both are at the vet's; Wally with liver issues, Zoey with mouth problems. I visited them today. The vet is worried about Wally but said they would keep trying as long as Wally kept trying. He has been sick/nauseated, but has eaten a little when fed with a syringe and is on nausea medicine in addition to other meds. He's been sick since Sunday evening. He's wobbly and has had a bad day today.
Zoey has been sick since Wednesday. The vet thinks she may have licked something that burned her mouth. She's not been able to eat or drink, but the vet said she has attempted to eat today. She is doing a little better, although she's still in pain.
At one time, I thought they might get to come home tomorrow, but I will feel much better about their staying the weekend so they can get the medical attention they need. I will visit them again in the morning, but it will be a long weekend until I see them again on Monday. Thank you for including them in your prayers.
Belle
Owner: Julie Halstead, Ashburn, VA
Prayer: Please pray for Belle. She is going to have surgery tonight. She is such a happy and wonderful part of our family and we ask for prayers of health and wholeness for Belle and for guidance for the doctors and all those involved in her care.
Taz
Owner: Regina Blair, Newcastle, OK
Prayer: Our sweet boy, Taz is 6-years-old. He is part Pomeranian and part Papillon. He got sick last weekend and I took him to the vet on Monday. His kidney enzymes were elevated and the vet said his kidneys were failing and gave us no hope at all! I have been crying all week! I took him to another vet that has not given up on him yet. They are flushing his kidneys and giving him antibiotics. He won't eat so I have to feed him with a syringe. If he doesn't get better they want to talk about our options. I am praying his kidneys will be healed and he will eat again. He is precious and we dont want to lose him. Thank you for your prayers.
Jazz
Owner: Sandra Angelo, San Diego, CA
Prayer: Jazz has a propensity to get a bit too 'involved' in my writing as you can see from my attached drawing. I can live with that but the fur balls on my manuscripts have got to go. Perhaps this city cat has the wrong definition of the word mouse? Let us bow and pray for the fur balls to vanish.
Zaley
Owner: Amanda Roberts, Abilene, TX
Prayer: Please pray for our precious little Miniature Schnauzer, Zaley. She is the love of our lives but has been sick basically since we got her, although we had no idea of it at first. She has had multiple bladder stone surgeries and then we were told she had a liver shunt that had to repaired through surgery as well, she has been through so much in her two years of life, but she is our bundle of joy and we can't imagine life without her so please pray that the liver shunt surgery worked. We will not know for sure for another 4 weeks in the next Bio-Acids test but I do know that God can heal and that he loves amimals just as much as humans.
Finesse-Lee
Owner: Rhonda Bradley, Albion, MI
Prayer: This is my Toy Poodle, Finesse-Lee Brindle. On October 8, 2009, Finesse had an instant onset of paralysis in his back legs which is affecting his ability to urinate and eliminate on his own. There was no injury, his breed has a predisposition to degenerative disc disease. He is only 1-year-and-11-months-old. The surgery would be $6,000.00. They are trying to utilize steroids to affect the disc in hopes that he can regain use of his hind legs. Please pray with us that the steroids will assist or else we would have to put him to sleep. He is our first family dog. I am a living testimony of God's miraculous power just this year. Please be praying with us for our Finesse-Lee.
Susie, Honey Rose, Tex, April, Jewel and Pokey
Owner: Betty Craig, Waldron, AR
Prayer: Please pray that God will heal my precious Poodle, Susie and my Miniature Horses, Honey Rose, Tex, April, Jewel and Pokey and keep all my animals healthy. I love them dearly. Thank you for this prayer ministry.
Trevor
Owner: Linda Piazza, Pearl, MS
Prayer: Please pray for my chihuahua, Trevor. He has been sick for about a week with an enlarged prostate and cannot urinate because of it. The vet is afraid that he won't last long unless he improves fast. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Rascal
Owner: Joyce Jackson, Harrod, OH
Prayer: Please pray for our cat Rascal. He's become anorexic and has steadily declined over the past three months. He shows some improvement, then regresses. We really love our cat and don't want to lose him. Thanks for the prayers.
Sussha and L.D.
Owner: Glenna Kolvek, Scott Depot, WV
Prayer: We have a wonderful testimony that will give you goosebumps about our 16 year journey with our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Sussha and how God showed his love and mercy to us her whole life. The last months of her life were so affirming to me of how God answers our prayers and saw us through the darkest time of our lives. I was able to have Sussha pass over the Rainbow Bridge to be with Jesus in my bed and didn't have to make that painful end of life decision. I said I would never have another fur kid unless God placed one on my doorstep and he did just that one year after Sussha's death at the time when he thought we had grieved much too hard. He sent us L.D. and what a story about him. He has the best personality and loves everyone. He had great health until this past year and now he is in 2nd stage kidney failure which we are managing for now and he has problems with his back which must be painful but he never lets on. We love him beyond belief and he's my husband's best friend. Please pray for L.D.'s comfort in the months to come and for decisions we may be facing down the road. We have been blessed beyond belief by God's love and mercy with our fur kids.
Chow-Wolfie
Owners: Mary and Bill Dennis, Dallas, NC
Prayer: Please pray for our 12-year-old Chow-Wolfie; he has heart worms and the vet couldn't treat him as he weighs about 80 lbs and we couldn't seem to get 30lbs off him. He is a very gentle dog and we love him. He wasn't supposed to live this long, since the vet told us 2 years ago that he would only be with us a few more months. We prayed for him but now he is getting sicker. He still weighs 80 lbs and still plays sometimes. Please pray that the Lord will extend him a few more days or months or even years since my husband is so attached to him and he is 75 years old. Please pray for him too. It will be very hurtful when our pet leaves us. Also pray for me as I just lost my 16-year-old Siamese that we both loved very much. Thank you and God Bless. I read Guideposts every month.
Max
Owner: Peggy Stubbs, Indianapolis, IN
Prayer: Please pray for my Beagle/Terrier mix, Max, that I rescued from Humane Society 12½ years ago. He truly is my companion as a single grandma; especially since my retirement from nursing almost 6 years ago. He has arthritis and I can't afford the vet fees to get him animal medication so I treat him with OTC human meds that a vet friend told me is totally A-OK. That, plus coated aspirin twice a day, seems to help quite a bit and was very noticable to my neighbors. I lift him on and off my bed and car seats---both higher than a lot of beds/cars. The warmth of the electric blanket also comforts him. He wants to jump down on his own, but it does seem to hurt him as he then limps on front leg for awhile, so I will gladly continue to do it. His hind legs don't have the strength to push himself up. He is a Benji look-a-like and he truly has filled my children's and grandchildren's "place" now that they are mostly so busy with their own lives. Please pray for his comfort and happiness. I had to stop reading all of the other prayer requests as they are all so deserving and heartwrenching. Thank you.
Rescued Kitten
Submitted by: Sandra Spann, Gilmer, TX
Prayer: I have rescued a wonderful 5-month-old kitten which I cannot keep. He is going to a no-kill rescue group today. Please pray that God will provide a kind, loving, caring, forever home for him.
Cubby Bear
Owner: Annette Villapiano, Chicago, IL
Prayer: I would like all of you to pray for My Little Man, Cubby Bear. He lost his battle with Kidney Disease at the very young age of only 16-months-old. He was diagnosed at only 4-months-old with a genetic kidney disease and doctors did not even think he would live to be 1-year-old. But with all the love and care I could give him, he beat the odds and gave me the best 16 months that I could have ever asked for. I miss my Newfie every day and no other dog will ever fill the void in my heart that he has left. Rest in Peace My Little Man and one day we will meet again at Rainbow Bridge and be together again. I love you.
Abby
Owner: Terri Keller, McGregor, TX
Prayer: Our Abby, a 90lb beautiful yellow Labrador, has something wrong with her back right leg. She has been limping on it for about 6 months now, but we do not have the money to take her to the vet right now. I feel like a horrible pet parent not being able to take care of her properly, but after an illness and job lay off last year, (both have thankfully been resolved), we just don't have much extra at the end of the month. Please pray for her comfort until we can get her to the vet and find out what is going on. Thanks!
Chloe
Owner: Jeanne Nesler, Omaha, NE
Prayer: Please pray for my cat Chloe who has lymphoma, she is 13-years-old and my first cat ever. She has lost 5 lbs in a few months and just recently got diagnosed. Her cousin Molli, a Schnauzer, has cancer as well and they eat like horses but continue to either maintiain their weight or lose weight. These animals are loved by their animal siblings, Boots, Charlie, Henri, Milli, Ophilia and Goldie.
Shadow
Owner: Karen Grossaint, Strasburg, CO
Prayer: Please pray for Shadow. When he arrived at my door as a stray 2 years ago, he was hungry and scared; his ears and nose had been chewed by flies and he had a big cut across the top of his snout and severe infections in both ears. Although he has improved a great deal in his time in our small family--me, 3 other dogs, a cat and 3 parakeets--he still suffers from anxiety. The veterinarian says that if he can't improve, he'll have to be put down. We've consulted a pet behaviorist to work with him to help him over his fear. The behaviorist thinks he can get over his fear; We don't want to lose him because he is part of us.
Juliet
Owner: Michelle Kurta, Fairchance, PA
Prayer: Please pray for my puppy Juliet. She isn't feeling well and I don't know what is wrong and I can't take her to the vet. I have no children and she is just so important to me, please pray for God to heal her. Thank You and God Bless you all.
Ernie and Jessie
Owner: Gail Bender-Gabel, Cortaro, AZ
Prayer: Please pray for Ernie and Jessie. They have both been diagnosed with 'Valley Fever' which is common here. It is a fungal disease which, in their case, has lodged in their front legs. They are in pain and the medication is not working as fast as we hoped... Their pain medication is expensive and we can't afford it much longer. Ernie is my husband's 'cuddler' and losing either one of them would break our hearts.
Hannah
Owner: Pat Jones, Marietta, GA
Prayer: Please pray for our beloved 8-year-old German Shepherd, Hannah, who was recently diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma after her spleen ruptured. The emergency surgery saved her life and then we found out that it was cancer. Although her prognosis is poor-we opted for chemo to improve her quality of life. So far she is doing very well, with little chemo side effects. We feel God saved her for a reason and know that he will continue to watch over her. She is one of our "children"and has such a sweet, giving spirit that we ask for prayers for a longer life for her.
Bridget
Owner: Teri Cahill, North Huntingdon, PA
Prayer: I lost my dog, Bridget, a beautiful Springer Spaniel, almost 5 years ago. I knew from the moment I laid eyes on her that she was going to be part of the family. She had so much personality. She would even sing to us when she got older. Bridget was the best dog I ever had.
Reading Dean Koontz's story, brought back a flood of heartache. She was the daughter I never had. I use to call her my baby girl, which is how I got my email address. She had a lump on her stomach that had burst. After surgery to repair it, the vet wanted to send a sample out to test for cancer, but I declined. I couldn't put her through anything else. She was almost 14-years-old at the time. She did good for a few months before her health started to decline. She had trouble eating and was having difficulty breathing. My husband offered to take her to the vet the next day to have her put to sleep. I cried at the thought of it but reluctantly agreed. I slept downstairs with her and awoke around 3 in the morning to hear her take her last breath. I think she died where she wanted to, at home. My two boys and I laid her to rest in our backyard. Maybe some day I will get another but I'm still afraid of the pain of losing another.
Buckeye
Owner: Beth Curry, Newark, OH
Prayer: Our cat, Buckeye, has what appears to be a broken tail. As with every other animal at our home, he came here because his owners could not keep him. Their son who was less than a year old at the time needed a lung transplant. They could not keep anything that had dander or fur in the house. Jason was the youngest patient to ever go through a domino-transplant. He received new lungs & a heart (due to how small the lungs were at his age, they transplanted heart and lungs together) and since his heart was still in great shape, it was given to a little girl. Unfortunately, Jason only lived a few more years. That is why this cat is so special to us. Please pray that his tail will just be a minor issue and heal on its own.
Shadow
Owner: Karen Grossaint, Strasburg, CO
Prayer: Shadow was a stray when he showed up at my door 2½ years ago. He was hungry and frightened; his ears and nose had been severely chewed by flies; he had severe infections in both his ears. Pet owners from the metro area often "dump" unwanted pets in close rural areas, and it was pretty obvious that this is what had happened to Shadow because he was wearing a collar but no tag, and no one responded to the various ads I put out to try to find his family. Shadow is very happy and has improved a great deal living with my small family of myself, 3 other dogs and a cat. However, he still suffers from some anxiety, despite a daily dose of calming medication. Unfortunately, he is still terrified of my veterinarian: when she visited our home 2 weeks ago, despite additional tranquilizing medication, Shadow was so terrified he became aggressive and she declared he'd have to be put down. At first I agreed, but after she'd gone and the trauma subsided, it occcurred to me that he seems fine with all my other visitors, and decided to cancel his appointment with death and try to find an animal behaviorist to help him work out his issues. The animal behaviorist has recommended some additional gentle training with training aids and finding a new veterinarian. Please pray that this will work, or my poor Shadow will have to leave us if he shows aggression again.
Ruby Lu and Daisy Mae
Owner: Lynne Padgett, Nampa, ID
Prayer: These are our little Pomeranians...Ruby Lu (Bumble Bee) and Daisy Mae (Pirate). They are 9-years-old and such a joy for us. We have learned a lot from these two sweet girls! We pray for them and thank God daily for the joy they have brought us. Ruby Lu has seizures and a thyroid problem. Medication is helping. Please pray with us that Ruby's doctor will get the right combination of medications to control her seizures and that her thyroid will get balanced again. We are thankful for a great vet; he is kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable.
Tucker
Owner: Sue Filchak, West Wyoming, PA
Prayer: Please pray for my Tucker's health. I can't afford to take him to a vet anymore. I've had my hours cut and now am struggling so much financially that things like doctors, vets, shots, medicine, glasses and sometimes food are also considered a luxury. Please pray for all the pets on other pet prayers sites. Many of those are in need of prayer as well. I will be praying for all those who request and need prayer also.
Nicky
Owner: Janice Wyman, Victoria, TX
Prayer: My beloved Beagle, Nicky, lost his battle with cancer last year. After grieving for months I decided to adopt another Beagle, Hallie. She has overcome the fearfulness of being a stray and has brought so much joy back into my life. Please pray for Nicky, waiting at the Rainbow Bridge and pray for Hallie to keep growing in confidence and happiness in her now forever home.
Mitzie
Owner: Alene Brooks, Excel, AL
Prayer: I am 80-years-old, handicap and live alone. My best friend and daily companion is my cat, Mitzie. On Friday, October 23rd, she slipped out my back door and has not come on home. I am worried for her safety because she is used to staying in the house. I miss her greatly and pray for her safe return. She is a small frame Siamese cat with smokey gray features. She has short hair and has been spayed. Please pray that my dear friend comes home or is found and safely returned to me.
Alexander
Owner: Alexander van Rooyen, South Africa, SC
Prayer: We are relocating from South Africa to New Zealand and Alexander has to sit in his confined space/cage for about 30 hours. The duration of the pre-flight, flight and travel time to the quarantine facility is very long even for us humans. He is a Neapolitan Mastiff, large breed (weighing in at 75kg) originating from Italy and does not handle small spaces very well. Please pray with us that he will be calm during this unfamiliar and unknown travel time and that the handlers at the airports will be pet-loving people. Thank you.
Ginger
Submitted by: Norma Shuping, Salisbury, NC
Prayer: Please pray for a sweet 13-week-old yellow Labrador puppy named Ginger. She came to her new family, who are members of my Sunday School Class, and in her first week there came in contact with a rabid racoon. There were no visible puncture wounds but the Vet advised that she be placed in quarantine for 6 months with no human contact in the event she was bitten. You can imagine how devasted this family is. Jim, who is a MD, asked for prayers for their new baby. They have a 2-year-old daughter named Grace who does not understand why her puppy can not be with her. They visit her everyday and Jim has taken chances by touching her. He is even considering taking the rabies injections so that he can hold her and play with her without danger. Naturally they are concerned for Grace's safety. This is just the saddest thing I have ever heard. My prayer for Ginger each morning is that our Lord, who blesses us with pets to nuture and love, will hold her close with his divine touch until she can be returned to her new family. Please join me in praying for Ginger's safe and speedy return home. Thank you and may God richly bless all of you and those you love.
Bristol
Owner: Cyndi Hale, Hopkinsville, KY
Prayer: My ten-year-old Whippet, Bristol worked as my hearing assistance service dog for nearly 6 years. God blessed me and healed my hearing and we are believing and seeing Him uphold those same promises for Bristol. Bristol is recovering from seizures, making miraculous strides that even the vet cannot explain. He has already overcome vet predictions of ever being able to walk after knee injuries and is an active, playful dog at 10. After all his years of faithful service to me and as a certified therapy dog with the American Red Cross, please lift him in your prayers for continued healing and service. He has been a great testimony to God's compassion and glory to all our friends and family and we expect God to continue to use Bristol's healing for His glory. As an active duty military family, our pets are our family (especially for me when my husband deploys, which is often!), and we are profoundly grateful to God for His gifts through them all. Bristol is a blessing, a great testimony of God's faithful loving care for His creation and for my husband and I. As in Mark 11:22 we continue to have faith in God and speak to this mountain! Thank you for your prayers and you will be in ours Matthew 18:19
Kini
Owner: Patricia Pearson, Phoenix, AZ
Prayer: Pray that Kini's spine heals quickly and that surgery will not be required.
Gena Lynn
Owner: Cam Schafer, El Paso, TX
Prayer: I would like prayer for Gena Lynn my Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She has a condition with her right eye called cherry eye. The doctor gave me drops for her eye and said it was not something that needed surgery, although it can be surgically fixed. Anyway, it involves the third eye lid and sometimes I think her eye is bothering her. I would like prayers that God would heal this and make the eye lid stay in it's place. Also, that Gena would get back to eating dog food. I was a bad doggie parent in that I started spoiling her by giving her human food and now she expects it all the time. I want her to be healthy and eat the right things. Pray that God will help us in succeeding in getting her back to dog food.
Emmett
Owner: Laura Kilner, Superior, WI
Prayer: Emmett is an 11-year-old Labrador mix and the most wonderful dog our family has ever known! We almost lost him last April during Holy Week from pancreatic cancer, but he's been hanging on and doing pretty well since. He still struggles with chronic pancreatitis and kidney issues, but for now we can control his symptoms and pain, and for the most part he's a happy guy. We take one day at a time. Please pray for Emmett for comfort and healing, and for his family for strength and guidance as we have to make more and more difficult decisions...may we continue to do what's best for him. Thank you!
Laurie's Horses
Submitted by: Lynn Peck, Gainesville, FL
Prayer: For my friend Laurie and her horses, who were taken from her by the local animal control after people she had paid to take care of them starved them. She was nursing them back to health; many were at normal weight or almost normal when they were seized. She has gone to phenomenal effort and expense to care for and protect these horses, most of whom she has had for years.
There seems to be a lot of dishonesty on the part of the officials who are involved in this situation (notarized records backdated; information omitted from reports, false statements made). Photos of the horses taken shortly before seizure show they were healthy looking, with shiny coats; some ready to start working again.
Please pray for the best outcome possible for Laurie and her horses; that the truth will be made known and acted upon and that Laurie will have the help she needs. Especially pray that the horses will be protected and not sold or given to inappropriate homes. The hearing is scheduled for next week. Thank you.
Blue
Owner: Kelly Plaza, Virginia Beach, VA
Prayer: This is "He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins - Heart Of Gold - Lucky Blue Shadow" (Blue for short) and he is the furry love of my life. He just turned 8-years-old and has been diagnosed with lymphoma, which is an incurable cancer. He is getting treatment and is responding very well with hardly any side effects. We will continue treatment as long as it doesn't affect the quality of his life and we ask that you pray for him to continue to do well. Many, many thanks.
Gwenevere
Owner: Melanie Maxwell, Seattle, WA
Prayer: I have a female Collie named Gwenevere who is almost 15-years-old. I have had her since she was about 2-months-old. I have no children, so she is my child. She was recently hospitalized for a gastrointestinal problem and was discharged this past Thursday (Oct. 22). During her stay, she was also diagnosed with a brain tumor and a heart condition. Her prognosis is not good. Although she was not expected to walk, she is now walking slowly at home and eating and drinking well. I ask for your prayers to gently ease her into the twilight and end of her life; to give me the wisdom to know when her end is upon me, and to show humanity when that time arrives; and to help me to recover from her decline and ultimate loss. Thank you.
Gracie
Owner: Karen Jackson, Poquoson, VA
Prayer: Please pray for Gracie, my 9-year-old Bichon Frises, who has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. She is in the hospital now undergoing treatment and we hope to have her home soon.
Apple
Owner: Karen Beck, Ithaca, NY
Prayer: My tiger/torti cat, Apple, was resurrected by God two years ago from a near brush with death due to severe pancreatitis. Now she either has a bleeding ulcer or leukemia. She won't eat her turkey baby food any more and I'm afraid I'll have to put her to sleep soon. She's losing so much weight for such a little cat. Will God give me another gift of more years with Apple? He's helped me so often with my cats. I just can't bear to put her to sleep.
Rocky
Owner: Edie Stadler, Reidsville, NC
Prayer: Please pray for our four-year-old tabby cat, Rocky. He has been diagnosed with urinary tract disease. His urine crystallizes, which blocks the tube that allows him to release urine. He has been catherized twice this week to release the urine from the blockage. We were hoping the catherization and IV's would "flush" out all the crystals and would allow the blockage to be cleared but so far it has not. My three children also love this cat! We are concerned for him and the vet expenses are adding up very quickly. Please pray that the blockage will clear on its own and that we are able to bring him home without surgery (which may not be financially possible for us).
Kandalah and Kazhmeir
Owner: Lynn Johnson, Endicott, WA
Prayer: My two beautiful baby snakes, Kandalah and Kazhmeir, escaped their cage with the assitance of my daughter's cat. With winter coming, spiders are in the house and I need to bug bomb it. I am asking that you will pray for my beautiful snakes to come out of hiding before I bomb the house, or, that I am able to find something to rid the house of spiders with something that is snake "friendly". Thank you in advance.
Sissy
Owner: Donna LeBlanc, Greenwell Springs, LA
Prayer: My sweet cocker spaniel Sissy, has lumps in her mammary glands and a spot on her lung which could mean it's metastized. She also has an enlarged heart. She's my precious girl. Please pray for her.
Molly
Owner: Jackie Thomas, Marietta, MS
Prayer: At age 13, Molly received a new lease on life with the assistance of her vet. At age 56, I also have been given a renewed life with the support of family (including my animal companions), friends, the caring staff at Mantachie Clinic, and even the kindness of strangers.
I enjoyed Dean Koontz's article, Our Golden Girl, about Trixie who taught him about life and who renewed his sense of wonder. My couseling dissertation focused on the human-animal bond and grief. For years, I understood grief only in a theoretical sense as I pushed my own grief under layers of denial. My dog Molly, her seven canine siblings, and her seven feline siblings teach me daily lessons on celebrating life in spite of grief and hardship.
Star
Owner: Marcia Hart, Concord, NC
Prayer: Please pray for my cat Star. She is a mostly black kitty with a little white on her chest/throat. I named her Star because the white reminded me of a star shining in a dark wintry night sky. To me, stars are God's beacons of hope.
Star is elderly and may be very sick. She is losing weight and drinking lots of water. She has been sick to her stomach. I am so scared of losing her. She and I have been through so much together. She is one of the last links to my parents, who went to Heaven in April 1998. I love her very much and would feel lost without her. Thank you so very much.
Grace Jones
Owner: Rick Jones, New York, NY
Prayer: I am sharing a picture of my happily healthy 7-year-old Grace Jones. Gracie knows how hard it is to lose a pet, having lost her older sister BeBe Jones (also a Keeshond) at New Year's last year. This is Gracie's favorite picture called "Daddy I Couldn't Wait" and she and I wanted to share it with you so that it might bring some small measure of joy as you deal with tough times. Grace wants you to know that having a pet who loves you is ALWAYS worth it, no matter how tough it may appear now or at other times.
Rafella
Owner: Peggy Zuber, Tulsa, OK
Prayer: Please Pray for Rafella, she will be going through an operation today. She is a tortoise and will be getting a feeding tube. She stopped eating and is getting a soft shell. Please pray for her. Thank you.
Kandalah and Kazhmeir
Owner: Lynn Johnson, Endicott, WA
Prayer: My daughter's cat helped my two beautiful snakes, Kandalah and Kazhmeir, escape. Now with the cold setting in, the spiders are coming in the house, and though many people have told me the snaks must be dead, I don't believe it. Please pray that they are healthy and will come out of hiding before we have to bug bomb the house. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
Toby and Sasha
Owner: Marie Hauck, Bakersfield, CA
Prayer: Please, please pray for the two white kittens which we adopted about two months ago. They are now about five months old, pure white, and beautiful. Toby is the boy and he is strong looking. Sasha is his smaller, somewhat delicate sister. Just yesterday, my husband and daughters bought them each a cute collar with a bell and a nametag. Tonight, (October 18, 2009) was their first night outside. Our daughters fixed up two little cat shelters for them—two hooded cat litter pans which had been "repurposed" and cleaned up and made into cozy beds for them. Two towels over the doorways were for added protection.
Since we live in California, the weather is not too inhospitable, yet. Please pray that Toby and Sasha will be safe and warm and comforted by the Lord's spirit and soothed from any fears they may have. Please pray a hedge of protection around them! Also, please pray for our two older cats Angel and Mrs. Gray—particularly Angel, who is heavy '"with kittens" and soon to give birth, that the Lord would be over the timing and providing of a safe, cozy place for her to have her kittens. Thank you!
Eubie
Owner: Erica Addesa, Branchville, NJ
Prayer: Please Pray for my dog Eubie. They found a tumor in his mouth which proved to be an aggressive form of cancer. They cannot operate until his heart is stable for 6 week due to a slightly enlarged heart. It's already been 4 weeks. He is doing much better with his heart. Please pray that his cancer did not spread anywhere else or it won't spread anywhere else. Thank you so much and God Bless.
Trixie
Owner: Sharon Birch, Tacoma, WA
Prayer: On May 11, 2009 I adopted a dog off of Craig's list, and a week later, her previous owner's phone was disconnected. She is very damaged and fearful of almost everything. Please pray for her and me and let her know that she is forever safe in her new home now.
Carmella
Owner: Carmella Scott, Danville, VA
Prayer: Carmella is an eight-year-old 4 lb teacup poodle. Last year she had to have brain surgery for a birth defect that showed up at age 7. When she came out of the surgery she was totally paralyzed for 5 weeks. Slowly she regained her ability to walk and get around. She is now about 80% of what she was and can do most things as before except go up and down steps. We found out this condition can come back and cause her to be paralyzed again. Pray for Carmella that this condition won't came back and she will be with her family for many more years.
Maddie
Owner: Jacqueline Pate, Mount Juliet, TN
Prayer: My pet, Maddie, has just been diagnosed with a very enlarged heart. I got her in February of 2008 from a pet adoption home. She is 9-years-old now. I would like to pray for her not to suffer, and when she dies for it to be easy for her. The vet said if she was a human she would be put on the heart donor list - that's how bad it is. My mom and I live together and Maddie is with my mom during the day. I am giving Maddie 3 medications two times a day. Even though we haven't had her long, she is so loved by us both. Please pray for her...Thank you.
Mittens
Owner: Ruth Rosen, Flushing, NY
Prayer: I lost Mittens, the last of my cats. Please pray that I can have another one, as my roommates talk of getting glue traps and exterminators for the mouse problem that has worsened since Mittens passed, instead of getting another cat. I love cats, not them. Thanks.
Bastet
Owner: Nicole Dreyer, Windsor Mill, MD
Prayer: My cat Bastet has been with me for five years, as of October 17. I adopted her as a stray. Shortly thereafter she was diagnosed with heart disease. A wonderful vet cardiologist in Annapolis saved her life and has been caring for her ever since. Now Bastet has been diagnosed with lymphatic leukemia. The only board certified vet oncologist in MD works in the same complex as Bastet's cardiologist and she has been treating her for the last month. Bastet has had three chemo treatments and they seem to be working but there have been complications. She is in between treatments right now and will receive her next one on Tuesday. Please pray for Bastet's health and well-being, for her oncologist Dr. Janet Peterson, her internal med vet Dr. Adam Gonzales, her cardiologist Dr. MacGregor Ferguson, her regular vet Dr. Denise Huson, and for me, her "mom". Thank you!
Chunk and Ada
Owner: Barbara Bush, Summerville, SC
Prayer: My Prayer is for my two dogs, Chunk and Ada. Chunk has been missing since June 17, 2009 and I am praying that I get him back. He is a Corgi-mix and I love and miss him very much. My Ada turned 15-years-old on July 5. Three weeks ago I had to put her to sleep. I'm praying that she is happy and waiting for me.
Frankie
Owner: Barbara Techel, Elkhart Lake, WI
Prayer: Frankie, the "Walk 'N Roll Dog," is a very special dog. She suffered a spinal injury in 2006. Though it was extremely difficult at the time, we took the high road and decided to look for the blessing. The blessing revealed itself in the form of a children's book I wrote about Frankie. I saw the opportunity to be able to help children with their own challenges and to encourage them to be positive no matter what...just like Frankie taught me. Frankie's health is well at the age of 10. My prayer request is just that she live a long, healthy life so we can continue to visit with kids at school, as well as do our volunteer therapy work. Frankie truly helped me find my purpose and being a team with her brings me such joy. My wish and prayer is that she stay well for many years ahead. Thank you so much.
Charlie
Owner: Marian Jenkins, Ozark, AL
Prayer: Please pray for my 5-year-old cat, Charlie, who has now been missing for 24 hours (as of October 14, 2009). Please pray for his safety, well-being, and safe return home; pray for wisdom for us as we search for him. Thank you.
Tiger
Submitted by: Marsha Mossing, Toledo, OH
Prayer: I am caring for my sister's cat, Tiger, while she is on vacation. Unfortunately, he is not well. The vet doesn't know quite what's wrong with him, but did put him on antibiotics. He can't stand or walk, but just recently he has improved enough to hold his head up. I've known Tiger since he was a kitten, and love him as if he were my own. Please pray that he will get well. I'd really appreciate it. He is 16-years-old and I know age is against him but I believe with God's help he's got a few more good years in him. Thank you so much.
Lucy
Owner: Denise and Freddie Stephens, Cleveland, TX
Prayer: This prayer request is for my husband's dog, Lucy, and for him, Freddie. Freddie is leaving at 7AM in the morning for Colorado to go on a hunting trip for 2 weeks, and he can't take her with him. She grieves, (literally cries), for him whenever he's gone for any amount of time. She also refuses to eat, play, etc.
If I may, I'd like to briefly share how Lucy came into our lives. First off, I would NEVER have guessed my husband of 23 years would ever own or get so attached to a lap dog. Lucy is a Chaweenie and I consider her a God-wink in our lives. At the end of March 2008, my husband was driving home from the Trinity River after he had been fishing. Something caught his attention under a bridge so he stopped. She was hunkered down, malnourished, mangy, with her head tilted and one ear sticking straight up. To sum it up, he saved her, and she changed him and our lives in an awesome way. Please pray for Lucy till her "daddy" gets home safely in two weeks! Thank you all for your prayers and cares! God Bless!
Callie Grace
Owner: Ann Schneider, Petersburg, IL
Prayer: My beautiful 5-year-old (she turns 6 two days before Christmas) Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Callie Grace, has glaucoma in her right eye, which will be removed at the end of October. Her left eye has the first stages of cataracts. I'm asking for prayers on her behalf for the surgery to go well and for her to not lose sight in her left eye, if that is God's will. I can't thank you enough for your prayers.
Ella
Owner: Michelle Robinson, The Woodlands, TX
Prayer: Please pray for the cutest black and white Mini-Schnauzer with one ear standing and the other still floppy. Her name is Ella and she actually belongs to my 12-year-old daughter, Rilee. She started getting sick about a week and a half ago. On Friday, October 9th, we took her to the vet for shots and they ran a blood test through which they discovered high liver enzymes. This means that she either has a liver shunt or has eaten a toxic plant. Tomorrow we go for an ultra sound to see for sure about the shunt. Ella is only 5-months-old and we love her dearly. She is in grave condition. My daughter has had a rough year since we just moved here and Ella has been such a bright spot in her life that I just can't imagine God taking her away now. Please pray for Ella and our whole family to have strength. Thank you so much!
Lola
Owner: Alice Ross, New York, NY
Prayer: For Lola's heart murmur test on Thursday. Please let it indicate - "No Worries."
Mister
Owner: D'Lorraine Dufour, Minneapolis, MN
Prayer: My five-year-old Tabby Cat has been losing weight for about two months. His name is Mister. Yesterday, he received IV fluids for six hours and ate some food, which he vomitted out in about ten minutes. Please pray that his digestion will start to work again and that he will gain weight.
Slinky
Owner: Manuela Stansbury, Mechanicsville, MD
Prayer: I ask for prayers for our dog Slinky. He came to us about 2½ years ago after he got ripped up pretty bad by another dog. He's a Dachshund and is 13-years-old. The last few days he lost feeling in his back legs. Currently, he seems to be able to move a bit at times; but at other times, he is practically paralyzed in the back. Slinky has brought us so much love and joy. He had back surgery many years ago. I took him to the veterinarian on Saturday, but was told there is nothing that can be done for him because he is still able to walk at that moment. Please help pray for Slinky.
Remmie
Owner: Dennis Anger, West Monroe, LA
Prayer: Our 11½-year-old black Labrador Retriever has a perennial allergy that affects his sinus cavities. We have treated him the last 14 months with antibiotics, and tested him with scope surgery that found no polyps, infection or fungus. However, as he ages, his condition worsens. Thank you for your prayers for wisdom and acceptance.
Angel
Owner: Kris Renn, Oglesby, IL
Prayer: Angel is my beloved 14-year-old kitty. She's about the only thing in my life that brings me joy. I don't even want to imagine life without her. She has developed a cough that has me concerned. After each episode she seems perfectly fine. She still runs, plays, eats and seems normal in every other way. She has an appointment at the Vet on Friday, October 16, 2009. Please pray for good test results and that anything that might be found can be easily treated.
Spooky

Niki
Owner: Nancy Bass, Tallahassee, FL
Prayer: Please pray for my little Yorkie, Niki. She suffers with severe allergies and is on a lot of medication. Despite the efforts of several veterinarians, nothing has given her much relief. She is such a sweet dog and we don't know what we would do without her.
Tweety
Owner: Sue Wiseman, Obetz, OH
Prayer: I have a Pug that is six years old. She has a tumor in her stomach and it is spreading to her lungs. The vet gave her two weeks to live but she is still holding on. I love her very much and know God can pull her through this with prayer. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
Lady Winchester
Owner: Marilyn Rickerson, Saint Charles, MO
Prayer: I just had to put down my 14-year-old Springer Spaniel, Lady Winchester just a few weeks ago. She was losing her eyesight and hearing. She was running into things. Her appetite wasn't what it used to be. I just don't know if it was the right thing to do at this time. I am grieving more than I thought I would. I was with her for her last breathe. I miss her so much. She was such a wonderful, loving part of the family. Does the pain stop when you look at another Springer and break into tears? My friend says dogs don't go to heaven as they don't have a soul. I don't believe her. I plan on seeing Lady chasing rabbits and squirrels in heaven.
Tig
Owner: Cherie Townsend, Louisville, KY
Prayer: I am asking for prayers for my cat Tig. He is my God kitty and his name stands for Trust In God. Long story short...he came into my life at a time I was finding God and became my God kitty. Now I am moving. He is an outdoor cat; still on the wild side. He does come in at night though. I want to do what's best for him. Moving him could be detrimental since he would be in a strange new place. However, leaving him on his own could be to. I'm struggling with what to do...and it's killing me. Please pray for me to hear God's will for Tig and pray for Tig to be okay. Thanks.
Maxi
Owner: Dianne Berggren, La Mirada, CA
Prayer: My sister and I were blessed in 2001 when we became the "parents" of Maxi, a female toy Pomeranian and retired show dog. She is now 11 years old and has a thyroid condition and a heart murmur. She takes a lot of medication, but seems to be doing well except for the coughing spells she ocassionally gets due to her heart problem. We pray that the Lord will be merciful to her and keep her from any suffering in the future. We love her with all our hearts, and know she was given to us for a purpose. We are very grateful to her vet who is so careful in treating her because of her various problems.
Jack
Submitted by: Brenda Moulton, Lakeport, NH
Prayer: Please pray for the return or finding of a dog that has been missing for about five months. The dog belongs to a lady I know and it still has not been found since its disappearance from her yard. She is still hoping to find him. His name is Jack. He's a Great White Pyrenees. There have been sightings in nearby towns but am not sure if it is Jack. Please pray that he is not suffering and will be found. Thank you.
Ester
Owner: Sylvia Yetsook, Charles Town, WV
Prayer: Please pray for Ester who disappeared 3 days ago from Charles Town, WV. She is a barn cat and people keep saying that she will come back. She is 1½-years-old now and I am really afraid that somebody took her because she never ran away before. She is spayed and has a red collar on that reflects at night. Could you please pray for her return?
Alex

Danny Boy
Owner: Rosemary Maruish, Smyrna, GA
Prayer: For my dog Danny Boy...that he lives a long healthy life...becomes a comfort to others as a therapy dog...that he alters his behavior by not barking at neighbors for no reason when we go outside..that he is always protected from evil people, places, situations, cars, illness, natural disasters that may try and harm him...that he always be in the shadow of God and St. Francis of Assisi's light and protection; for a long healthy life with me.
Tracey
Owner: Cathy Valley, Deep River, CT
Prayer: I ask for prayers for myself after having to euthanize my precious angel-cat Tracey, who was approximately 17 years old and had severe kidney failure. I miss her loving spirit and sweet ways, I picture her in all the places that she loved like sitting on the porch in the sun or rolling in the dirt in the driveway...

Smokey
Owner: Smokey Robbins, Newnan, GA
Prayer: Smokey just came home from Auburn yesterday where he was treated for 3 months for pleural pneumonia. He is doing well and we must treat his incision daily for the next few weeks until he is completely healed. He has been through a lot and we're glad to have him home and ask for prayers to help him to continue to improve.

Chinook
Owner: Carolyn Swift, Cheyenne, WY
Prayer: Please pray for my horse, Chinook. He got kicked badly between his back legs and has large bruising and swelling. Pray that he makes a swift recovery without complications and heals quickly. He is the most amazing horse I have ever known and, like all animals, hate to see him in pain.
Wyatt
Owner: Shelley Tancil, San Diego, CA
Prayer: We found a flea infestation under our house when working on an emergency plumbing issue. We are trying to get rid of them without chemicals or poison, so please pray that we are successful. They are attacking my dog now. Fleas can be a dangerous health issue, but so can the toxic remedies. Thank you for your prayers!
Paul
Owner: Nancy Newton, Davenport, IA
Prayer: Paul has kidney disease and hip dysplasia. I'm doing all I can for these conditions. He's 13 years old, and I want him to be happy and around as long as possible.
Sassy
Owner: Rosetta Shuck, Mesquite, TX
Prayer: Please pray for my little "Sassy," my precious little Pek-A-Poo. She has been in the internal medical hospital since 10/1/09 and has been diagnosed with kidney failure. She was 15-years-old on 1/05/09 and has been my 24/7 companion ever since she was 5-weeks-old. Please pray that she will get well enough to come home on Monday because I really need her home so I can just love her some more. My 70-year-old heart is broken and I have read many of the postings here. They have brought even more tears to my eyes because I know how all of you feel. May God bless "My Little Sassy" and each and every one of your precious "babies" and all of us owners who bear the burden of facing their illnesses and giving them up some day. I know that I, as all of you, will be faced one day with the difficult decision of returning them to the Lord. He loves them all even more than we do. I thank God over and over and over for Sassy, and for her unconditional love that has brought happiness to me beyond belief. Thank you for your prayers and know that my prayers are with all of you. Even through the pain, I wouldn't have missed "The Dance."
Jazz
Owner: Sandra Angelo, San Diego, CA
Prayer: My cat Jazz throws up quite a bit and I'm asking God to help him digest his food better so he doesn't throw up. Also Jazzmine and Cashmere suddenly started being enemies and I'd like them to get along. (They are cats.)
Maxie and Beau
Owner: Phil Hall, New York City, NY
Prayer: This is a picture of my dog, Maxie, when she was six weeks old. I was a very lucky man, for she lived to be 17 ¾ years old. When she was three, I got a second toy poodle, Beau, who lived to be 16 ½ years old. They have gone to doggie heaven now. But the 21 years I had with the two of them was life-changing for me, and I wouldn't trade those years for the world. Mine is a prayer of thanksgiving for all the joy, love, companionship and affection I received from the two of them during the wonderful long life we had together.
Laynie
Owner: Mark Champagne, St. Paul, MN
Prayer: This is my beloved Puggle dog Laynie. I am learning about love from my little dog. I get it. I give love and she returns joy and beauty. My heart sings just watching her and being with her. Pray that she stays healthy and protected. I worry that if something big happened I wouldn't have the money to pay for it. I am able to take care of her well, but would not have money for a big vet bill. Also please pray for guidance to teach me how to train her not to take off when she is off leash. The Beagle in her is strong and she just bolts and I worry she will get hit by a car. Thank you.
Hurricane
Owner: Tracey Simmons, Morgantown, IN
Prayer: I have a cat named Hurricane. He is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina and the floods of New Orleans. He was a tiny kitten we found 12 days after Hurricane Katrina hit. The vet I worked with at the time thought he was probably only 3 to 4 weeks old when Katrina hit. We do not know how he survived. He was found on a railing surrounded by flood water, without his mother or any siblings. There was a bond created between him and I when I heard him crying after I came out of the water from rescuing a dog. (He had been rescued and was in a crate.)
Hurricane had a problem with one eye shortly after I adopted him. It seemed to clear up, but over a year ago, I saw a problem with his eye. He's also had problems with crusty stuff around his nose. I now know that all this goes back to his time in New Orleans. He has some kind of autoimmune problem. His left eye is nearly fully clouded over with the problem. And now it is starting in his right eye. He has always been a loving cat, knowing when I was hurting from my disabled hand and nerves damaged, and only loving me more. His attitude has changed—not so snuggly and he's biting sometimes, plus other problems all that have come on since his left eye really started over a year ago. He's been to three vets. All the things tried have not helped. Please pray that Hurricane's problems will heal. Even though I have other cats, Hurricane is very, very special to me!
Snuggles
Owner: Louise Snodgrass, Knoxville, TN
Prayer: My Snuggles is a puggle (part pug, part beagle), she is 2 years old and is a therapy dog. We go to a local hospital every Saturday to visit elderly patients. Recently on a visit she was extremely excited to go into a patient's room. A man was just lying in bed quietly. I put a chair up next to his bed and put Snuggles on my lap, but he wanted her to get in bed with him so I let her. She gave the man many kisses and he laughed and pettted her and began to talk about his cats. When we left the room the nurse told me the man had tried to commit suicide and was admitted two days earlier and had not responded to anyone until Snuggles' visit. It is awesome what an animal can do for a human. My prayer request is that Snuggles will continue to touch patients' lives.
Flora
Owner: Claudia Franks, Sea Cliff, NY
Prayer: Please pray for our little dachshund Flora. She will be 13 years old in November and I ask that God help me care for her so she can grow old gracefully, with health and happiness. She was rescued from a puppy mill when she was 2 and had a very hard life of mistreatment before she was rescued. She is a loving and kind girl...she lives with 4 cats and shares with all of them! Thank you!
Sunshine
Owner: Carol Rose, Princeton, WV
Prayer: This is Sunshine. She is a 6-year-old Maltese. For the past 3 years she has scratched and bit her hair out. We have tried many "remedies" without success. Recently we took her to VPI Small Animal Hospital to have allergy tests done. The day we went her skin was so broken out, they were unable to do skin tests. They did, however, do a blood test.
It showed that she was allergic to grass and wheat. We can tell that she is still suffering with the scratching and biting. The antihistamines we've had her on for the past 3 years weren't doing her any good. Please pray that we will find the real reason for her suffering.
Penny Jean
Owner: Tina Alvarado, Mineral Wells, TX
Prayer: Please pray for Penny Jean. I lost her at Easter time in 2009. Make sure that she is safe in heaven.
Campbell
Owner: Lou Ann Muntz, Cordova, TN
Prayer: Campbell (5-months-old), a rescued Pit-mix was diagnosed with distemper. I would appreciate prayers to help him recover. Thank you so much!
Charlie
Owner: Carol Smith, Visalia, CA
Prayer: Our dog, Charlie, died last June of renal failure. We had a bond with Charlie like we have never had with another dog, so his death has been very hard. Our family has searched for another dog, but every time we find one at a shelter, rescue, or SPCA, they are always adopted. Please pray God will provide just the right dog for our family.
Charlie
Owner: Stephanie Welch, Auburn, AL
Prayer: This is Charlie, and as you can see, he is a very unique little puppy. Charlie was born on October 31, 2008, and his mother would not nurse him because he had a cleft lip. The breeders did not want to take on the responsibility of bottle raising him, so he was donated to my school. Once I heard about him, I knew he needed to be with me. I adopted him when he was 6- days old, and began the long journey of raising him as my little baby. Charlie has become the joy of my life. I wake up every morning and see his adorable face, and just thank God for putting him in my life. At 4 months old, Charlie was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. He spent two weeks in the hospital, fighting for his life. Thankfully, he had a great team of doctors that helped get him through that rough part of his life.
However, his condition is not curable because kidney transplants are not performed on dogs. He has since developed anemia due to his dysfunctional kidneys. I have been fighting with him for the past 7 months, and it has been so hard. I hate to see him sick, but I am also selfish and want him to be with me because he has helped me through so much. We have done all that we can for him, and his disease is progressing very quickly.
I ask that you please pray for Charlie to continue to be a strong little guy. I thank God for giving me the wonderful times that I have had with Charlie, and I ask for strength to help me make the right decision when the time comes. I know that Charlie was sent here as my guardian angel, and I couldn't have made it through these past few months without him. I could not have been blessed more. Just please keep this little guy in your thoughts and prayers. He needs all the hope in the world right now.
Shadrach
Submitted by: Saundra Hamm, Henryville, IN
Prayer: I am a friend of Saundra's and submitting this request for her in regards to her cat, Shadrach. Shadrach is currently at the vet and has been diagnosed with crystals and had some tests performed. He is not a happy camper being at the vet and has put up some resistance! Currently he is refusing to eat or drink and not urinating. He will not be allowed to go home until this changes. Please pray that he will begin drinking and that his body will begin functioning normal again, that his pain/discomfort will subside and that he can go home. Please pray for complete healing for him. Thank you so much.
Zachry
Owners: Paul & Linda Mencke, North Olmsted, OH
Prayer: Zachry is our gift from Jesus—a remarkable story in itself, but too long to tell here. He's a nine-year-old Cockapoo. Last week, we found a small growth in his mouth coming from his gums. After taking him to the vet for examination, she also found a cracked tooth. He will have surgery September 30th at 8:30 a.m. I know this is a late prayer request, but I just found out about Guideposts' Pet Prayers about 15 minutes ago! What a wonderful, blessed idea! Please pray that the vets have wisdom and skill as they operate on Zach to remove this growth and that he recovers fully with no further medical treatments necessary.
Meme
Owner: Jackie Gorgacz, New Castle, PA
Prayer: Please keep my beautiful Meme in your prayers. Meme is an eleven-year-old lab Golden Retriever mix, who has blessed my life since she was just six weeks old. She has truly been a gift from God. She has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor and suffers with seizures. Please pray that our last days together will be happy and comfortable for her, and that I will be given the grace to cope with my grief at her passing.
Cricket
Owner: Caroline Lentz, Florence, AL
Prayer: Please pray for my poodle, Cricket. She is extremely sick with pancreatitis. I don't want her to leave us but if it is God's will then I will understand. Please pray that she has no pain and knows that we love her very much. Thank you!
Rosie
Owner: Marilyn Peters, Lynchburg, VA
Prayer: I lost my sweet 18-year-old kitty Rosie recently. I would just ask for your prayers that I may have peace about this and that I may somehow receive some assurance that she is now in God's care. God bless this ministry to animal lovers.
Destiny
Owner: Jan Treloar, Wantage, NJ
Prayer: Destiny has CRF or Cronic Renal Failure. She is on a special diet and fluid treatment every other day
along with some meds to help settle her tummy. She's a very good dog and all the vets and techs just love her.
She is very good about her treatments. She hates the diet and we are about to try (with the vet's approval) a new food. Please add her to your prayers. In May we lost our other doggie (Desi considered her a sister) and it's been kind
of a rough period for her. Thank you!
Bugga
Owner: Beulah Smith, McDonough, GA
Prayer: Please pray for my sweet cat, Bugga. She is 10 years old, is having bowel problems, and is overweight. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow. Please pray for a good report, that their is nothing seriously wrong with her. She is so very special, and I thank God for sending her into my life.
Angel
Owner: Christine Slemmer, Dover, OH
Prayer: Angel Eyes, the love of my life, came into my life when a very dear friend died of brain cancer, hence the name "Angel." Throughout the past 5½ years, my sweet Angel required stomach surgery, I lost my job of 20 years and have been struggling to pull myself up through the job crisis situation. Throughout all life's struggles, my Angel has been here through thick and thin for me licking away my tears. Angel is truly my life saver.
Dante
Owner: Ann McCrocklin, Oviedo, FL
Prayer: Dante is a Bichon Frise and in need of our prayers. He is seven years old and I adopted him about one year ago. His red blood cell count is low and his white cells count is high. The vet does not know what is wrong. He got better, but has had a relapse. I love Dante very much and he is the light of my life. He keeps me focused. Please pray for his health. I have spent over $1,500 on him and I am retired and don't have much more to spend.
Tinker
Owner: Pat Barker, Aspers, PA
Prayer: Actually, this is a prayer request for me. My kitty, Tinker, my one-eyed wonder (who had to have his one eye surgically removed), died last year and I still miss him tremendously. He was a stray kitten that we found (or who found us) who had leukemia and only lived to be 18-months-old, but despite this, he was the happiest cat I've known. He was a blessing to me as our only son left for college and I faced the "empty nest" phase of my life. His courage and attitude was contagious. He taught me a lot about facing the trials and temptations in life.
Schatzie
Owner: Paul Chubbuck, Fort Collins, CO
Prayer: My beloved feline companion for 15 years fell ill two months ago, then seemed to recover, then got much worse two weeks ago. Last friday I had to make the most agonizing decision of my life...to end her suffering. I ask for prayers for her understanding of why I had to do that, for her well-being on the other side, and for my own movement through this deep grief as gracefully as possible I miss her very much and am so grateful for her devoted companionship.
Marley
Submitted by: Beverly Summers, Fort Worth, TX
Prayer: My grandson has spotted a coyote/wolf near his home. His dog Marley is in the backyard. We are concerned about her safety. Please pray for her protection!
Al
Submitted by: Karen Sengstock, Henderson, NV
Prayer: Please pray for my son's cat Al. Al is a very loving cat who is 8-years-old. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with brain cancer. We were fortunate to be able to take him to a special veterinarian who performed radiation treatments on Al. He was completely cured. Sadly, he now has cancer in his kidneys. He is a most wonderful cat and I am requesting a complete healing for him through your prayers.
Lexie
Owner: Vickie Clapp, Elon, NC
Prayer: Please pray for Lexie she was born with a shunt in her liver which usually takes 6 months to a year to show up. She is now 14-months-old. She had surgery to repair it and had several seizures after surgery. As a result she is blind and we don't know if she will regain her sight. Her balance is off and she has to take 3 different types of medications daily. One week after surgery she couldn't stand and now 3 weeks later she is able to run and make her way around the house, so many of my prayers have been answered. Please pray for her continued recovery and the hope that she may regain her sight.
Merry Jo
Owner: Blythe Boyes, Evergreen, CO
Prayer: Pray God will heal our Merry Jo's back legs.
Both of them are injured. She will have surgery on the worst one on Oct. 8th.
Akira and Jamaica
Owner: Karen Smith, Chubbuck, ID
Prayer: I am sending in prayer requests for my pets—Jamaica, who is a male Minature Dachshund and Akira, who is a female Akita. Jamaica is 7 years old so he gets on the grumpy side when Akira is wanting to play. He snarls at her and shows his teeth. Then at times they get into a bad fight. One time Jamaica had to go to the vet because of the bite puncture wounds from Akira and had to be put on antibiotics and pain medicines. I ask for prayers for them to get along. I love both these pets so much and I want them to get along always.
Zeus and Mia
Submitted by: Dolores Lamping, Fraser, MI
Prayer: My son Jim and his wife Kris have two cats they have had since Jim and Kris were first married almost 10 years ago. They have no children and they love these cats, named Zeus and Mia, dearly. Recently, both cats were diagnosed with serious illnesses. They have to be given IVs every day. Mia finds this very difficult to cope with. Jim and Kris are very sad about their dear pets. Since they live in California and I live in Michigan, I can't be there to help them, so this prayer request is the only way I have to hopefully bring them and their pets some comfort in their suffering.
Blue
Owner: Jackie Lee, Milford, OH
Prayer: My parakeet, Blue, has a megabacteria affecting her ability to digest her food. The vet has put her on a new medication which I have to put in her drinking water, but she is eating and drinking little and just wants to sleep. If she doesn't get the medicaiion in her system she will not survive. Please pray for Blue, age 5.
Orion
Owner: Sheila Irwin, Midway, GA
Prayer: My cat Orion is having inner ear problems. There may be a tumor or polop on his inner ear. He's 12 years old so surgery is a real risk. He walks around like he's drunk and I have to keep him in a cage so he won't climb and fall. Please pray that he's made whole. I'm not ready to let him go and spending the rest of his life in a cage is not a good thing. Thank you. God bless.
Henry
Owner: Linsday Bencick, Little Rock, AR
Prayer: Please pray for Henry. He's deaf and has bad arthritis in his legs, so he slips and slides on the floor. I am very worried.
Bandit, Bear, Spaz and 5 Rescue Dogs
Owner: Ginger Gebert, Phoenix, AZ
Prayer: My dog Bandit got cancer the same time as me, he was 12, I was 40. he taught me so much of how to live with cancer and he has since passed on but I think of him daily! I pray he's happy and healthy and I can continue to use what I learned form him.
Bear and Spaz are two litter puppies I found in the desert. I'm in stage 4 cancer now and these pups inspire me, help me to keep going and bring me such laughter and joy! I pray that I outlive them and I may have resuced them but they are saving me.
The five other dogs, I've rescued in a two-year period. My little inspiring family.
Charlie
Owner: Carol Pickering, Beach City, TX
Prayer: My Charlie is being temperament tested Saturday morning to see if he qualifies to be a therapy assisted dog. Please pray that he will pass the requirements and give gentle comfort to those who are in rehab, nursing homes, or in the hospital. I rescued Charlie from a city shelter, where he had "grown up," having come in at about 9 months of age and stayed until I adopted him 6 months later. He is gentle and loving, but does have some fears left from having spent so much time in a shelter. Please pray for Charlie and for me as his handler.
Smoke
Owner: Eric Nieves, Jr., Summitville, NY
Prayer: Please pray for Smoke. Ask for him to be of good health and a need to obey!! He pulls us real hard on walks and injured me and my father. It is our fault for not training him. He was a rescue and has many issues. God bless!
Sammy
Owner: Chet M. Nakai, Bridgeton, NJ
Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless our dog, Sammy, who turned 5 last June '09. He's a great pet and a dear part of our family with unconditional love. May Sammy stay healthy and happy 'til it's time to leave this earth.
Bailey
Owner: Priscilla Willess, Rockwall, TX
Prayer: This is our dog Bailey. He is the biggest goofball you could ever meet. He makes us laugh all the time. Today, 9/25/09, we took him to the vet for a follow-up for some swollen glands in his neck. The doctor scheduled a biopsy for 9/26/09. He believes it to be Lymphosarcoma, a form of cancer. Please pray that the test results will come back negative. He has been and continues to be a blessing to our family.
For All Pets
Submitted by: Delores Potter, Owatonna, MN
Prayer: The Humane Societies are overwhelmed with dogs and cats up for adoption where they are having to double up pets in their facilities. Pray for people to come forward and adopt these precious animals. Pictured is my husband and our Westie-Poo.
Rosie
Owner: Marilyn Peters, Lynchburg, VA
Prayer: I lost my sweet 18-year-old kitty named Rosie this week. Will you please pray that God will let me know somehow that she is now in his care? Thank you and God bless this special ministry for all of us animal lovers.
PJ & BaileyOwner: Jimmy Parker, Virginia Beach, VA
Prayer: Please say a prayer for our little boy PJ who has been having some issues with his right knee. He is a 6-year-old German Shepherd and just lost his brother, Bailey. He has been very depressed as he has spent his whole life with his "brother." Add to this his knee issues and he has been having good days and not so good days. Thank you for your prayers for his emotional and physical healing.
We had to do the hardest thing we have ever done in our lives and had to put down our special boy Bailey a short while ago. He was a 12-year-old German Shepard who had degenerative myelopathy. He was an inspiration to us all and a fighter who taught us to never give up hope. I firmly believe that all dogs go to heaven and am requesting prayers on his behalf that he is with our Heavenly Father, walking and running again and having a great time and waiting for that day that we will all be reunited in Our Heavenly Father's home.

Prayer: My friend, Marcie, lost her 7-month-old puppy a week ago. Please pray for Kaya's safe return. There have been many leads including one woman who found her but didn't hold onto her for Marcie to come and pick her up. She is heartbroken and misses her girl. This is a special dog who was rescued from the SPCA which unknowingly adopted her out to Marcie with cancer. Marcie took her to the vet who performed surgery on her and she is now cancer free...only to be lost and wandering the streets of Safety Harbor, FL. Please pray for her safe return home.
Henry
Owner: Vicki Jones, Toledo, OH
Prayer: Henry was rescued from a dog pound and no one knew his past. He is very sweet and loving. When I adopted him in June 2008 he had a cough, and still has it. He has been evaluated and tested many times but the cause is unknown and perhaps an allergy. He's had steroid pills and I give him two nebulizer breathing treatments daily. I want to help him every way I can. My hope is to find the origin of the problem and the best treatment for my sweet companion. Thank you so much for your prayers for Henry.
Baby
Owner: Jeanette Reynolds, Lexington, KY
Prayer: Baby is a 9-year-old Lhasa Apso. Due to my carelessness he got hold of some raisins. Of course, this can be a very dangerous situation, so you dog lovers beware if you were not aware of this potential threat before. Baby is a loving, joy-filled, energetic soul who is not used to being confined, except for walks on his leash. He has been in the animal hospital on IV fluids since Friday night at 7:30. He has to stay in a cage and have blood tests until tonight around 10:00. Please pray for him to feel more peaceful and to have him not feel so afraid. So far the kidney function tests have been normal so we know God is looking after him. Thank you and God bless you and your wonderful four-legged (or maybe just two) gifts from Him.
Tosha
Submitted by: Jennifer Johnson, Taylor Ridge, IL
Prayer: My friends, Ed and Jan, whom I do volunteer work with at our local Humane Society, have a dog, Tosha, who has cancer. Tosha was responding to chemotherapy for awhile but now isn't. Jan and Ed are now trying natural herbs and a diet of fresh fruits and veggies for Tosha. Please pray for Tosha to be healed of cancer.
Maverick
Owner: Mary Palmer, Ilion, NY
Prayer: Please say a prayer for my cat Maverick who is 9 months old. He has been sneezing and hacking for the past couple of days. I don't know if he is coming down with a cold or something viral. Pray that he will get better. Also pray for his brother Zorro, who is also 9 months old, that he stays healthy. They are the best of brothers—they sleep, play and eat together. Maverick is pure white with a gray "m" on top of his head and Zorro is gray and white all over and he has a perfect shaped heart on his white fur on his side. It has grown with him and kept it shape. I pray they both stay healthy. Thanks.
Abby
Owner: Lori Sulger, Walton, NY
Prayer: My Abby baby was diagnosed with advanced lymph node cancer on 9/22/09. I knew something was wrong, but I had NO idea it was this serious. She also has a large cancerous mass on her heart. I have had Abby for 10 years almost exactly and she will/would be 11 years old in November. She has not eaten in a week, but continues to drink water when she can keep it down. She still wags her tail when I talk to her and can walk around and goes outside to go potty. There are so many things about my precious Abby that I miss and I see her slipping away more all the time. She is on Prednisone and it has helped her breathe easier. She seems to still be fighting so I won't give up on her. It is tearing me apart to see her slip away. She has not barked in a week and she no longer licks me. I wish she would lick me just one more time. I have been crying almost constantly. She is my baby and I already miss her though she is not gone yet.
Please pray that she will remain pain free and if she is hurting, that I will know it so I can help her. I am praying that she will go peacefully in her sleep. Though I'd rather have a miracle and have her 5 or 6 years more. 10 years is definitely not enough with my beautiful sweet girl. Thank you.
Penelope
Owner: Tamia Bible, Helenwood, TN
Prayer: Penelope is our 1 ½ year old Retriever mix. She was diagnosed last December with an autoimmune disease called erythema multiforme. The chemotherapy has apparently damaged her bone marrow and she is has received two transfusions. Because the transfusions and the drugs are so hard on her, we have decided not to pursue any more treatments. Unless her bone marrow can recover on its own, we will have to let her go. She is such a sweet-natured dog who charms everyone. We would love to pray for a miracle, but perhaps the miracle is that she has blessed us with her presence for this long.
Mabel
Owner: Amy Jacobi, Bloomington, IL
Prayer: Please pray for my Rat Terrier, Mabel. She is my soulmate—we have a bond that is incredible. She is at the animal hospital right now being treated for poor kidney function (she's 11). I ask for God's healing hand on her body. She's one of His most wonderful creations and I feel blessed.
Steffi
Owner: Mary Scobey, Cordova, TN
Prayer: Fourteen years ago my daughter presented me with a beautiful, pedigreed, silver-shaded Persian cat for my birthday. I named her "Steffi." With her huge, green eyes, beautiful coat, and sweet disposition, she drew exclamations of admiration from all who saw her. She has been my constant companion and bedmate. Now Steffi is dying of renal failure. In spite of a blood transfusion and almost daily visits to her veterinarian for shots, there is nothing more that can be done. I am devastated with grief. Please pray for Steffi—that her transition from this life will be easy—and for me. I am 84 years old.
Princess
Owner: Kaylee Kenney, Lexington, TX
Prayer: If you have a dog, you know how much he or she means to you. Mine's very, very sick so please pray for her. Her name is Princess. So please, please pray for her. She needs your prayers. Thank you.
Odie
Owner: Mary Perini, West Reading, PA
Prayer: Odie has congestive heart disease, leaky valves, and a lot of other issues because of the meds and the fact that his heart is not working properly. Please pray for him...it breaks my heart forcing pills into him, and want his remaining time with me to be happy. We need a miracle.
Holly
Owner: Stefanie Fowler, Roanoke, VA
Prayer: Our little Holly, who will turn 12 in November, has congestive heart failure and is not expected to live. She has been the sunshine of our lives, providing unending love through the good times and the bad times. My husband and I love her equally, and the thought of losing her is unbearable. Our prayer is for the strength to let her go when it is time, and the wisdom to know when it is time. Our fervent wish would be for her to die a natural death at home, but if that is not to be, then we pray for the knowledge and strength to know when it's time to help her go. We pray that she not suffer and that she know we love her and cherish the love she has brought us. She is our treasure and has filled our lives with immeasurable joy. We thank God for the gift of Holly! We hope and pray that she knows we love her as much as she loves us.
Southern Illinois Pet Society
Submitted by: Cindy Clancy, Villa Ridge, IL
Prayer: Please pray for Southern Illinois Pet Society. They are a shelter in need. They have many animals and very little support. It was the dream of an 81-year-old woman and is housed on her property. Her health is not very good but she is out there every day working for the animals she loves. They are in need of food, volunteers and financial support. They are trying to find Forever Homes for the many dogs and cats they have. They need all of the prayers you can give. Thank you.
Abbie
Owner: Gina Dedrick, Portland, OR
Prayer: Please pray for little Abbie. I rescued her when she was dumped off at one of my Avon customer's homes. She is about 4 months old. She wasn't feeling well (not eating and not active) and I took her to the vet and was told she had a faint positive for felv. So they will retest her in 8 weeks. The also put her on Clavamox (antibiotic). She has been eating very well for the past week but isn't quit up to the running around. I am trying to be patient as it has only been a week. PLEASE pray that she gets well and will end up felv negative...since being unemployed, she has been a blessing. I love her to pieces.
Snowball
Owners: The Nickells, Highlands Ranch, CO
Prayer: Please pray for our dog, Snowball. He is only 2 ½ years old and is terribly sick. He has been hospitalized for the past week and the doctors aren't sure what is the matter. Their best guess at this time is some kind of autoimmune disease. He is being treated with steroids. Please pray that he will respond to the treatment and that we will not have to say goodbye to our sweet baby.
Heidi
Owner: Brenda Moore, Cherry Valley, IL
Prayer: My Rottweiler, Heidi, has ruptured her ACL in her right leg. She ruptuerd the ACL in her left leg as an 18-month-old pup, and we repaired that one. Now, as a 6-year-old dog, she's ruptured the other one. Operating again isn't a good option—it would put too much stress on the already repaired on, and the cost is prohibitive now. She isn't tolerating the pain meds well, so I will have to find something else, or discontinue it. We lost another dog, our beloved Boston Terrior to a brain tumor in March, so this is an awful situation. Please pray for Heidi's pain and my wisdom as we decide what to do.
Furby
Owner: John Strack, Idaho Falls, ID
Prayer: I lost my favorite cat, Furby, in Latigo Trails, Colorado, which is 6 miles from Falcon, Colorado. We searched everywhere for her. We put flyers out, talked to people around the area and contacted the Pikes Peak Humane Society. It was a terrible feeling not knowing her fate, and thinking she was without food, water and shelter. I have been praying every night for her safe return. So PLEASE say a little prayer for my precious cat Furby.
Blackie
Owner: Marie Talton, Newport, NC
Prayer: Our beloved 12 ½-year-old family Cocker Spaniel has a tumor in his anal gland—unoperable. He has weathered Cushings Disease, heart problems and all the conditions associated with aging very courageously in good spirits. The condition is progressing and my request is that if the Lord does not take him, I will need to make the decision to end his earthly days. Please pray for Blackie to ease any discomfort he may experience before that day and to give me the strength to face that time. We gave Blackie to my Mom who lived with us when he was 3 months old and he was faithful to her and loved us all until her death last December at age 99 years and 11 months old. I know there will be a happy reunion in heaven when they meet, but the earthlings need your prayers. Thank you!
Razor
Owner: Heather Manheim, Simi Valley, CA
Prayer: Please pray for Razor, despite her name, she is really a very good and sweet kitty. (She got her name from a comic book hero who had similar markings to her!) She is 15, and fairly healthy, but starting to have bad days. She was diagnosed with diabetes and early renal failure earlier this year, and she is not walking as well as she used to, I have a feeling arthritis is setting in. She has also started wheezing a lot and doing this weird “gulping” thing…the vet has many ideas about what it might be, but nothing solved there, and running out of money for all the different tests. We gave her antibiotics as precaution, and poor Razor was allergic to that, and had a bad reaction. She seems to have recovered from that at least. She’s been my baby since I was 18, so this is the first time I’ve had to deal with an ailing pet as an adult—not easy and very scary, but of course, my main concern is to keep her safe, healthy and happy as long as I can, and not have her suffer. I’m praying for all my other animal friends on this site, my thoughts are with you all.
Scarlett
Owner: Joan, Norfolk, VA
Prayer: Please pray for my sweet Scarlett, my rescued and adopted Greyhound. A growth that was taken off her neck is cancerous. Please pray to heal her and that the cancer will not spread. She is only six years old and I want her with me for a very long time. I trust in your continued prayers to keep her healthy and pain free.
Pumpkin
Owner: Leslie Gala, Ferndale, MI
Prayer: I am requesting continued prayers for my 5-year-old Boxer, Pumpkin. Pumpkin was rescued from a puppy mill and is extremely sick. In the past 11 weeks she has been with me she has showed much improvement, however she is having trouble getting rid of her whip worms despite the best treatment and is losing weight. She also has a large mass on her chest that is believed to be cancer but she is too weak to undergo a surgical removal at this time. Her separation anxiety is better and I'm able to leave the house for up to 15 minutes at a time now—much improved from the prior 45 seconds. This is the best picture I have of her right now she isn't very lively and likes to spend her days napping in a nest of pillows on the bed.
Lex
Submitted by: Marie Zemke, Riverview, MI
Prayer: Please pray for Lex, my son, Eric Judkins and his family's pet, Teacup Poodle. He's only 7 but has been diagnosed with liver and kidney failure. Eric, his wife, Loyce, and sons, Clayton and Noah are begging for prayers so the little Lex will be healed.
Moe Moe
Owner: Julie Sawchuk, Nesconset, NY
Prayer: Moe Moe, our precious Beagle, and dearest friend of 14 years has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Although we know he lived a good, long and well loved life, we are so sad to know that our time together on earth is coming to a close. Our prayers are that he leaves the world very gently and peacefully and that he knows that we will never forget him and that we will meet him again at the Rainbow Bridge. We hope he can take all our love with him...as we will never forget his love for us for the rest of our lives. He will always be our "furry" son...thank you for the gift of you, Moe Moe. Love, Mommy and Daddy
Abby
Owner: Bradley Cervene, Des Moines, IA
Prayer: This is Abby our German Shorthaired Pointer, she is a very good dog, and we love her so much. Abby was just diagnosed with megaesophagus, she has been getting sick for about a week, and could use some prayers from anybody willing to offer them up. I also met a family at the vet with a Doberman named Spike, and said I would pray for him, it would be great if you could too. Thank you and GOD BLESS!
Frankie
Owner: Diane Masterjohn, Bothell, WA
Prayer: We have a 9-year-old Burmese cat named Frankie and he is a talker! He severely broke his leg a month ago and we think it was done by a Coyote. He was supposed to have a very expensive surgury to heal his leg, but we can't afford it, so we had the vet just cast his leg. Please pray it will heal on its own and that he will be able to walk. We have to keep him confined to a cage or small room, which he hates, so please pray he will accept his situation and not be stressed out. Please also pray Frankie will accept not being able to go outside anymore. He is very stong willed and stubborn.
Mija
Owner: LJ Hickman, Alamogordo, NM
Prayer: This is my beloved Chihuahua, Mija. It means "my daughter" in Spanish. I would like to pray that I am able to find a way to take her to the vet for her check-ups and to have her teeth cleaned. God has blessed me with her and she has changed my life. I suffered from bad anxiety and depression. Mija makes me laugh, smile, and I've become more responsible. Mija helps me to exercise. I would ask for prayers that she remain healthy and strong. I love her so much.
Sarah
Submitted by: Diane Holder, Williamsburg, CO
Prayer: My son's dog, Sarah, a German Shepherd got lost and we are praying that she returns home.
Anjel Love Sunshine Parson
Owner: Connie Parson, Decatur, IL
Prayer: My Poodle's name is Anjel Love Sunshine Parson. She is 10 months old. She only weighs 2 lbs., 7 oz. We have a wonderful vet and she is the one who discovered that something is wrong with Anjel. She should weigh a little bit more, even though she is a teacup. When she had her surgery to get spayed they took a sample for a liver biopsy and it came back to prove what she thought was wrong. Her liver is very sick. There is nothing we can do for her except try to control her days of feeling very bad and to use a little pill daily. The diagnosis has caused us great heartache. We love her so much. She is prayed for daily, but I am glad to know that we can put her name out there for others to pray for her. She is really an angel that has come to our family.
Ruby Tuesday
Submitted by: Jean Rench, Carnegie, PA
Prayer: I am asking for prayer for my sister's cat Ruby Tuesday who resides in Kentucky. She was just diagnosed with Lymphoma and has also just started chemotherapy and is having her ups and downs. The long-term prognosis is not too promising but we are praying that the little furball will have decent quality of life while she is with us and that she will somehow feel God's comforting presence when she has to return to the hospital for unexpected procedures and her Mom can't stay with her. God's will be done—I just ask that she feel God's comforting presence in all of these frightening circumstances. Thank you.
Freezer
Submitted by: Patty Struble, Elwell, MI
Prayer: My friend just wrote to tell me her dog companion Freezer just was found to have a lump that the vet feels is cancerous. She is beside herself. They found Freezer as a small pup at the dump in the middle of the winter and brought him home. He has been a great comfort to his mistress and has been a faithful companion. Surely he is an angel sent to watch over and protect her and now he needs our prayers and good thoughts to have us watch over him. Please say a prayer for Freezer that the oncologist will find a cure and Freezer will be allowed to stay with Debbie for he is too young to leave her yet. Thank you.
Moose and Juneau
Owner: Debi Degtiareff, Broomfield, CO
Prayer: Please pray for both of my dogs, Moose, a Rottie puppy I rescued at 6 months old, and my Juneau, about 6 ½ years old Miniature Long-Haired Dachshund. Moose has "growing pains" from growing so quickly, he is very large for his age of one year old... and he's not doing as well as he needs to in group classes—he acts out specifically for me, but behaves much better for the male instructors of the classes.
Juneau has "bad habits," marking in the house, being territorial, and excessive barking, which riles up Moose also. I would love to have your prayers for both dogs. I'm not computer oriented, and am not sure if I'll be able to figure out how to send photos of them but will try my best to do so.
Sammie
Owner: DeAnna Setser, Gainesville, FL
Prayer: Please pray for my pet Sammie. He got scratched by a wild cat and since then the vet cannot figure out what is wrong with him. His lymph nodes are very swollen. We thought it was cat scratch fever but the treatment of antibotics has not worked. We have determined that he does not have cancer as of yet but we are starting from scratch again. Sammie has been the most wonderful pet (child) ever. He is seven years old and is the most wonderful, obedient and smartest son I have ever had. His grandmother (73 years old) is not ready to lose him. Please pray for us and for Sammie.
Midnight
Owner: Tommy Barron, Macon, GA
Prayer: My dog Midnight will be 15 on 09/26/09. She is getting old but I want Jesus to bless her health and the time I have left with her. Fill our days with joy and enjoyment. I thank him for a good 15 years with her. I love my Midnight.
Corky
Owner: Ruth Hinnenkamp, Sauk Rapids, MN
Prayer: My Golden Retriever Corky is 9 years old. The last two years have been one medical crisis after another. Cancer, bloat surgery, and now a bad right rear leg. Please pray for her continued healing and health. She is my "only child." We are taking her to a pet blessing on 10/4/2009 (Feast of St. Francis) and she can use all the prayers she can get!
Corgan
Owner: Andrea Kratzer, McClure, PA
Prayer: Please pray for my 12-year-old Lab/Collie, Corgan. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her pelvis. We were given some treatment options (amputation/partial pelvis removal, chemo, and possible radiation), but treatment will only give her a few extra months of life. We are not sure what will be best for her. A miracle would be wonderful, but may not be God's will. Pray that we will make the right decision for her and not us. Also, pray for strength and courage for are family and knowledge for her doctors. God bless you all.
Mindy
Owner: Margaret Frizzell, Pittsburgh, PA
Prayer: About six months ago I adopted a 5-year-old rescued Maltese named Mindy. She had been found on a front porch in a box and obviously was neglected. She is now healthy and the love of my life! She is blind in one eye but gets around just great. My prayer request is that she would become more trusting of friends who come to visit...she is very fearful around anyone she doesn't know. She just barks and runs off and hides. If I pick her up, I find her shaking. Otherwise, she is a happy, loving little girl.
Muppet
Owner: Theresa Edwards, White Oak, GA
Prayer: Please pray for Muppet, a 3-year-old yellow Tabby cat. She was my sister’s cat. My sister recently died (on Sept 20, 2009) of stage 4 breast cancer. She got Muppet 3 years ago, right before my sister was diagnosed with cancer. Muppet was my sister’s comfort through her ordeal of battling cancer. My sister’s wish was for my son, who is high-functioning autistic and shares my sister’s love for cats, to give Muppet a good, loving home. We live in southeast Georgia and Muppet is in Northfield, MN and I can’t go to Minnesota right now because I care for my elderly mother. Please pray that Muppet will be provided with a safe trip to her new home in Georgia, where we await to give her the love and attention she needs.
Emma
Owner: Char Nash, Grand Haven, MI
Prayer: Please pray for my Emma's knees...tendonitis in both knees and a bone spur in one of them...she is an 8-year-old Newfoundland who has given so much to people in her life...therapy dog and crisis response dog. Thank you.
Bailey
Owner: Angie Brooks, Acworth, GA
Prayer: I recently adopted Bailey, a 3-year-old German Shepherd. She was diagnosed yesterday with severe hip dysplasia. Please pray for Bailey.
Reggie
Owner: Nina Pohl, Nevada City, CA
Prayer: Reginald McAlister, Reggie, for short, is a 5-year-old Rat Terrier with a chronic infecton that the vet cannot find a cure for. He is taking Prednisone every day. He is the sweetest dog and so loving. Please pray that he gets well and feels like his old self again. He has a large human and animal family that love him very much. Thank you for your prayers.
Lucy
Owner: Pamela Garland, Olympia, WA
Prayer: My retired police drug-sniffing dog is 14 years old. She suffers from hip dysplasia and now is deaf. With my work schedule she has to be alone a lot. I used to take her to a lady for dogsitting but the lady can't take care of her anymore. I am in the process of finding a dogsitter. Pray that my finances will be abundant for this and also that Lucy Dog will have a peaceful and comfortable old age until the Lord takes her home. She has been a faithful service dog and assisted many schools and children with drug awareness training.
Dinky
Owner: Cindy Hauschild, Fort Wayne, IN
Prayer: My Miniature Dachshund Dinky is my child, best friend, love of my life. She's going to be 14 on October 3rd. I know our time together is coming to an end although I hope not real soon. I just want prayers for her well being and good health. She's given me so much joy all her life; if this is something I can do for her then I will. She's been there for me every single time I needed her to be and all she asked out of me is LOVE!!! I thank God for letting ME be a part of HER life!!!
Rocky
Owner: Tabitha Jack, Visalia, CA
Prayer: Rocky is 13. He is my grandpa's beloved cat. He got out and has been missing for two days. He has no front claws so we are very worried for his safety. We pray he is safe and will hopefully come home soon.
Prince
Owner: Jane Ploetz, Dunkirk, NY
Prayer: Our Prince is a handsome Chesapeak Bay Retriever. He is 8 ½ years old. Prince is experiencing some medical issues that we're currently checking on. He is a people-person type dog and is loved so by everyone who has met him. He gives so much of himself to his family and others. Prince was my fortress as I was facing my mothers death as she was dying from cancer. My husband and I are asking for your prayers that God will provide our vet with the proper knowledge and cure for our boy. Thank you and we ask for God's blessings on each and everyone of your pets.
Miley
Owner: Jennifer Weaver, Angier, NC
Prayer: This is Miley, she found me two years ago weighing only 2.5 lbs, when she was just 10 weeks old. A friend found her at a breeder, who was keeping her in the backyard because they couldn't sell her. As it turns out, she is a Yorkie Poo-Maltese mix (our mixed little mutt), and due to poor breeding has no hip sockets, terribly atrophied rear leg muscles and numerous teeth that never came in. There were teeth that did come in, right in the middle of the roof of her mouth and had to be removed.
The vet had never seen a case like this, and when her X-ray came back, asked, "Where did you get this little dog? She bears 75% of her weight on her front legs, and the surgeries and therapies required to "fix" her rear legs would have been expensive, painful and not guaranteed to work.
Miley Pie is the most generous, loving creature. She has been my rock and always cheers me, no matter what the dilemma. Through all of her physical trials and numerous vets in the beginning, she remained happy and loving. I agree that "Dogs must be hugs from God." I ask for your prayers that she lives to be a reasonable age pain free, for she did not ask to be brought into this world for the almighty dollar. God bless you and all of our furry and feathered friends. Thank you.
Ginger
Owner: Sheila Talley, Catoosa, OK
Prayer: My dog, Baby, died in May 2009, and every minute without my faithful companion was painful. Several months later we adopted Ginger, a sweet young "Puggle." She has been in the vet hospital for a week now, had emergency surgery Saturday (9/19) and they don't yet know that she will pull through. Saturday they gave her a 60/40 chance of doing so. She wasn't eating when we talked to them today, and she needs to eat. I would so appreciate your many prayers for my little girl. She is less than two years old. Needless to say, the pain is back—I need her with me (and so does my husband)! Thank you so much!
Roxie
Owner: Gail Bradley, Prescott Valley, AZ
Prayer: My dog Roxie hasn't eaten for four days. She is real sick. We don't have any money to take her to the vet. If we lose her I would just as well die with her. Please pray for her return to a good life. My wife Kristi and I love her so much. We have had her for five years and she was 3 years old when we got her. Please pray for her as much as you have to to heal her. Thank you all and God bless you.
Tybee
Owner: Rose Orr, Evans, GA
Prayer: My shadow, my best friend and great protector Tybee, is our 6 ½-year-old Golden Retriever mix. Two weeks ago Tybee had his spleen and a tumor removed. The vets said it was cancer and that it had probably already spread to other organs. Before the surgery Tybee lost 3.8 liters of blood and was given 2-3 blood transfusions to help lower his heart rate and raise his blood pressure. Please pray for healing on Tybee's body. Pray that God, our great physician, will heal him and give him comfort.
Petey
Owner: Carol Fletcher, Circleville, OH
Prayer: Petey, 9 years old, is our beloved little Beagle, he came to us eight years ago, starved and ill. We nursed and loved him; in return he has loved us and our grandchildern. Now he needs our love again. He has a mass inside his colon, and facing tests and surgery, he needs your love and prayers. Thank you and God bless you.
Amos
Owner: Anne Groce, Wilkesboro, NC
Prayer: Please bless our dog, Amos. Amos is a chocolate Lab and 8 years old. He suffers from hip dysplasia. He gets medication and shots to keep his pain under control. Please bless our dog with good health.
Stevie
Owner: Nick Kendall, Daphne, AL
Prayer: We adopted little blind Beagle Stevie in May. He has been such a joy! Full of life and mischief. Over the weekend he developed pancreatitis and now appears to have a blockage in his colon. Please pray for his recovery. He's had a short life full of hard knocks, but has never let those slow him down.
Sam
Owners: Liz and Mark Parker, Laurel, MD
Prayer: Our brown Tabby, Sam, has filled our house with his unique presence and joy for two years. He is a cat who literally jumps into our arms when we come home at the end of the day. He loves to play, and makes us laugh with his antics on even our hardest days. On Monday, August 31, 2009, Sam went missing. He was outside with me one minute, and the next he was gone, and we haven't seen him since. This is not typical behavior from our Sam. So we’re asking the GUIDEPOSTS community to send out prayers to keep Sam safe wherever he is to help guide him home to his family soon. Thank you all.
Monica
Owner: Richard O'Toole, St. Petersburg, FL
Prayer: May Every Creature Abound In Wellbeing and Peace. This is my daily prayer and the one on the memorial I have in my garden where the remains of my late companions rest. My Border Collie Monica was 13 when she died in August. The vet called her a miracle dog after a biopsy revealed a terminal cancer and she was given three weeks to live. We communicated that day and I promised her I would never prolong her life if it was not one with quality and happiness for her. I whispered over my sobs how hard it was going to be to let her go at such a difficult time the rest of my life was presenting at that time; but I learned a long time ago to always ask the simple question, "Am I doing this procedure for the animal or for me?" She smiled, raised her head and kissed me and survived with no sign of the cancer for another two years. Never give up on having faith in the power of prayer and love. They are all gifts from God and teach us pure unconditional love; the kind we should be giving all creatures; humans included.
Checkers
Owner: Marie Brophy, Beaverton, OR
Prayer: This is my beloved dog Checkers (Checky) on a camping trip last summer. We adopted her when she was eight, when her former owners, an elderly couple, could no longer take care of her. She once saved one of their lives! The man was alone and had an epileptic seizure and she barked and brought attention and help. She is the sweetest little girl and health-wise is doing really well for a 13-year-old, but unfortunately now she has arthritis and walking has been really hard for her. Please pray that she does not suffer. We love her very much.
Waldo
Owner: Susan Snidal, Winnipeg, MN
Prayer: Please pray that my cat, Waldo, will recover from his stroke. Thank you and Amen.
Puff
Owner: Marsha Price, Marion, OH
Prayer: I have a 17-year-old white cat named Puff. I have two younger cats, but she is my soulmate. She is being plagued with fleas and nothing we do seems to help. She is in good health otherwise and I hate seeing her so miserable. God has always been good to me and has taken "the decision" out of my hands. The vet says she will be around a lot longer if we can take care of her "problem." Please pray that I have a happy, healthy cat on my hands again. Thank you and God bless you!
Rowdy
Owner: Carol Nix, Lenoir City, TN
Prayer: Please , pray for Rowdy, our 10-year-old Yorkie. He got into some 'bad' food and is in the animal hospital. He is a diabetic, also. He is a very sick guy. thank you so much!
Hercules
Owner: Don Reid, Putnam, CT
Prayer: Hercules was adopted at age four and instantly bonded and became my BFF. He was gentle, but protective, not only for his adopted family, but even felt the need to intervene with a stranger who showed aggression towards another on the street. When he developed degenerative myelopathy and could no longer even make it up the steps on the deck after taking care of business, I knew we could no longer let him suffer in the silence he maintained.
At the vet's office, I knew I would gladly have taken the fatal dosage if, if only, he would again run and play as before. It wasn't to be. On the way home, I prayed that Hercules could just somehow let me know he would be okay, and as an answer to my prayer I suddenly heard the car radio, more loudly than before with the words of a song, "...in the arms of the Angels, far away..."
Spike
Owner: Carol Oliveri, Hoffman Estates, IL
Prayer: Please pray for my dog, Spike. She has a possible torn ligament in her leg. Please pray she gets better and is out of pain.
Rudy
Owner: Lettie Teague, Mamaroneck, NY
Prayer: My dog Rudy has been through a lot in his very short (five years) old life. He has a congential liver condition and takes a good many medicines to counteract the effects of that. He's also has two serious surgeries. Now he has to have a biopsy on a lump we found on his neck about a month ago. And yet, though he has suffered a great deal and has the thickest file in the vet hospital, Rudy is the most loving and cheerful dog I've ever been blessed to have in my life. He's the sort of dog you can't help but smile when you see him. And he seems to love everyone that he meets. There isn't anyone who isn't Rudy's Potential Best New Friend. If you could pray that Rudy will be fine, well, that would mean a great deal to us both.
KC and Pepe
Owner: Michelle Kauffman, Bloomington, IL
Prayer: Please pray for my two 13-year-old cats, KC and Pepe. KC was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last November. She was placed on medication and had a very rare and severe reaction to it, causing her to become jaundiced and anemic. Since KC’s doctor had never seen such a life-threatening reaction to this particular medication, she didn’t immediately connect KC being so sick to the medication, and as a result she became more and more ill.
But just when it seemed that all hope was lost, KC’s doctor called and said that “something just hit her” and she told me to stop giving her the medicine. KC slowly began to recover, and in February she was healthy enough to have surgery to take out her affected thyroid gland. She’s been absolutely thriving ever since. But unfortunately, she has become hyperthyroid again, and will now need to go through a second surgery to remove the remaining gland. Please pray for a successful surgery. And please pray for both KC and Pepe to live out their remaining years in happiness, comfort, and continuing good health. Thank you so much.
Sugar Baby
Owner: Kandy Collins, Proctorville, OH
Prayer: Sugar Baby is our baby. My husband is ill with a brain tumor and she is our baby. She has a serious eye problem that is getting worse and is in pain. Please pray God will heal Sugar Baby and my husband Danny. We need your prayers—you can only guess what a team they make. Thank you.
Charlie
Owner: Jocelyne Dutcher, Rome, NY
Prayer: Please pray for my 11-year-old Tiger cat, Charlie. In February Charlie was diagnosed with diabetes (he was otherwise healthy and happy) and put on oral medication. About two weeks ago, his blood sugar started to go up again. Our vet has determined that Charlie now has insulin-dependent diabetes and will require injections on a regular basis. However, Charlie isn't adjusting as well as hoped with the injections. Please pray for Charlie that the right dose and brand of insulin can be determined so that he will feel better and the diabetes will get under control. Thank you.
Piper
Owners: Brian and Jenn Patterson, Prescott Valley, AZ
Prayer: Please pray for a successful surgery! She is a precious puppy who deserves the best!
Turbo
Owner: Chuck Fuller, Tampa, FL
Prayer: Please pray for Turbo, our 12-year-old Golden Retriever. Yesterday she was diagnosed with cancer. Surgery is not an option and the treatments are very expensive, and provide no certainty. Without the treatments her expectancy is 3-4 months. Turbo has been the best Christmas present for our family, and it is terrible to think that she may not make it to the next Christmas. I am praying for a miracle to provide both the finances to treat her, and for her to survive. If not this, then the strength to get through this, and the wisdom to know when it is time so that she does not suffer.
Robin
Owner: Nancy Kruger, Crouse, NC
Prayer: Bless and keep my precious goat, Robin, safe from disease, injury and natural disasters. May she live a long and healthy life frolicking in the pasture with her brother and sister.
Annie and Sky
Owner: Nancy Kruger, Crouse, NC
Prayer: Bless and keep Annie and Sky safe from diseases, injury, and natural disaster. May they live long, healthy, safe lives with as much hay and grass as they can possibly eat!
Gibson
Owner: Phil Douglas
Prayer: I have a Golden Retriever named Gibson who recently had a biopsy done concerning cancer. The biopsy came back cancer free. Praise God. There is a bittersweet part to this story though. My vet said that he would have to remove the tumor, growth or mass that is inside of Gibson. It is a serious surgery that requires a large cut to get inside, and a lot of removal of mass and muscle, steriods, skin grafting and so on. The recovery would also be very painfull. I had figured that once he was cancer free, the whole event would be over, and that the mass would eventually go away on it's own.
I do not know what to do. I do not have the funds, and I do not want Gibson having to go through such a serious and painful sugery that could cause muscle damage and other complications. The Lord is the physician over all physicians, and I need a miracle. I'm praying that the Lord will extract the tumor, mass or growth, and that it will be gone. Praise God. I rebuke this mass, and I command it to leave Gibson's body, In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Please continue to pray in agreement with me my Christian friends.
Coco and Max
Owner: Carole Haynes, Destin, FL
Prayer: Please pray for my kitties, Coco and Max. Coco is having health problems with feline stomatitis and please pray that she is healed soon. Pray that Max will stay healthy, and they will live long, very happy and healthy lives. They are both such sweet kittens, and I love them with all my heart.
Dixie and Caitlyn
Owner: Joy Kennedy, Clearwater, FL
Prayer: Dixie is a beautiful Calico who has had a stroke. Her recovery is slow and I know that any and all prayers will help her to become her old self again. I am sorry that I don't have a photo but, please pray for Dixie.
My three-year-old Sheltie, Caitlyn almost died recently. After several days in the hospital and more than one diagnosis they finally found out she has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She is doing better now with medication but needs to still improve. Please pray for her, she is the light of my life and I love her like a child.
Gracie
Submitted by: Laura McGaffey, Pearce, AZ
Prayer: Gracie Bitner is in desperate need of an operation in North Carolina. I am uploading her photo and this request to get the prayers flying heavenward as quickly as possible. I will let them know that I have put in this request for them. They have a website to update their friends on their "fur-babies" (3 English Bulldogs that have all had medical crises over the last few months and tapped them out financially). Their website is wingrace.com. "Win" for Winston and "grace" for Gracie, two of their babies.
Little Bunny
Owner: Laura McGaffey, Pearce, AZ
Prayer: There is a Cottontail bunny that I first spotted as a little baby six months ago or so now. I just call it "Little Bunny." Depending on the time of year there are two to six rabbits on our property. This little guy didn't seem to be growing and even seemed a little mentally slow (for a bunny), which I determined by how s/he did not run when Lando and I walked nearby. The other rabbits looked to be trying to protect him/her but they've moved on since s/he's been growing and picked up defensive behaviors. I think of this bunny as a "pet" because it stays on and around our place. My prayer request is that "Little Bunny" continue to remain safe from the predatory animals out here, including that black cat that keeps coming on our property to try to hunt him/her. Sorry I've not been able to get a photo but I guarantee s/he's adorable.
Winslow
Owner: Susan Way, Alton, TX
Prayer: Pray for Winslow, "Winnie," who has chronic renal failure. We love him very much and don't want him to hurt or suffer.
Celia
Owner: Sherry Nash, Henderson, NV
Prayer: Please pray for my dog, Celia. She's two and half years old and we live with six other people right now. We are used to living alone but have recently moved in with these other people and they resent Celia and I fear they may be mistreating her when I'm not home. Please pray the Lord keeps her safe from harm and that we correct this living situation according to the Lord's will real soon. Thank you for your prayers and God bless you and your pets!
Buddy
Owner: Maggi Payne, North Fort Meyers, FL
Prayer: This is Buddy, my Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Buddy was a rescue who worked very hard to become a registered therapy dog and Reading Education Assistance Dog. My husband died suddenly last year, and his death was followed closely by the death of our other Corgi, Annie Rose. Buddy and I have both had a difficult time, and I would appreciate prayers for him. He has done so much to comfort me and keep me going.
Jack
Submitted by: Sharon Herfendal, Albert Lea, MN
Prayer: My son's dog, Jack, has terminal cancer. He is a 10-year-old yellow Lab and loved by so many. Of course, I pray that he could beat the cancer but know that would take a miracle. Please say many prayers for him. He is the best dog and so loyal. We wish he could be around for another 10 years!
Max
Owner: Nancy Lane, Pittsburgh, PA
Prayer: Please pray for our Great Dane, Max. We rescued him a little over a year ago. He came from terrible conditions and we could see every bone in his body when we got him. Max has thrived since living with us and is an affectionate and wonderful dog. He has just been diagnosed with canine melanoma. He had part of his jaw removed a few weeks ago, and the surgery went well. He will be starting the melanoma vaccine in the near future. Please say a prayer, too, for his doctors.
Harry
Owner: Debbie Shewood, Midland, MI
Prayer: Harry is a six-month-old Goldendoodle. He was the runt and has had some health issues since he was born. He was much smaller than the rest of the litter, and had at least one bladder infection. He was diagnosed with a yeast infection in his left ear and it spread to his right ear. Harry’s infection didn’t clear up after the first medication, so the vet put him on new ear drops and a pill to help with fungal infections. The oral medication has some side effects such as loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. Harry’s appetite has decreased and he vomited once and his stool is softer than normal. We have taken him off the oral medication.
Please pray that Harry’s infections clear up and that his appetite returns. We took Harry into our home when he was three months old and all we want is for this sweet puppy to continue to grow and be healthy and happy. Harry has brough such joy to our lives and we would like to be able to give that back to him.
Scamper
Owner: Stacey Malfatti, Morris, IL
Prayer: My husabnd and I had to leave our home for a week to travel two states away to visit and help ailing grandparents. We left our home, dog and cat in the care of a trusted relative. However our cat obviously got upset and left. She has never done anything like this before. She has been missing the whole time. Please pray that our cat is safe whever she is and that if the Lord wills, she will make it back home.
Callie
Owner: Lizann Beason, Burkburnett, TX
Prayer: Our 12-year-old Lab, Callie, had cancer of the lymph nodes. We recently lost her. Please pray that her passing was peaceful, and for my three big teenage boys and my husband and I that we are able to let her go. She has been the best dog ever and we will miss her so much.
Rocky Balboa
Owner: Donna LeBlanc, Houma, LA
Prayer: For Rocky Balboa, our 3-year-old Boxer spoiled rotten baby! He has a lump on his right shoulder which has gotten better with antibiotics. Pray that it goes away and does not return. Pray that it is nothing serious. Thank you!
Lock
Owner: RonRonda Stockton, Durango, CO
Prayer: A cat name Lock had been ignored almost two years now, he quit cleaning himself and was so afraid of everyone. In just two months he cleaned himself up went hunting for mice and birds, and my husband told him how beautiful he was and what a good hunter he was. He always left what he hunted on the porch. Then when he and my hubby took walks and other cats would approach my hubby, Lock would run to get in the middle of them, protecting him from other cats. I call him my husband's Earth angel in cat form!
Cocoa
Submitted by: Laura O'Brien, Stamford, CT
Prayer: I would like to pray for my landlord's chocolate Lab Cocoa. She is having surgery Wednesday to have a growth removed from her paw. She is 9 years old and they are the loves of each other's lives. Please pray for God to watch over both of them, for a speedy recovery and comfort for our "human" companion. I am sorry I don't have photo, she is an awesome dog.
Baby
Owner: Cindy Tola, North Richland Hills, TX
Prayer: My dog Baby had ACL surgery four years ago on her left back knee. At the time her vet said that some 50% of pets with this injury injure another knee. He said if she did, the stress on her previous injury could cause problems he couldn't fix, and that could mean putting her down. Well today she injured her right knee, and I am so frightened that it will affect that other bad knee. Please pray with me that the other knee (left) will not be re-injured or deteriorated by the new right knee problem. The Lord knows how much I love this dog. She is so sweet. Please agree with me that the right knee will heal well, and that the left knee won't be affected. God heals dogs too. He gave me my Baby...just agree with me that this will not take her away. God bless.
Heidi
Owner: Karmel Evans, Buffalo Center, IA
Prayer: For Heidi my little 12-year-old Beagle who developed a cancerous tumor on her left back paw. The vet said amputation was the only solution and that at her age it would be too hard on her. I'm left with watching her and hoping she is not suffering. As long as she eats well and runs around on the three paws. After putting two older pets down within the last two years and losing a husband and father last winter I find it hard to let go of yet another family member. I also have another dog who will be lost without her. Please pray for Heidi and also for me to make the right decisions. Thank you.
Jake
Owner: Lisa Pallan, Crestview Hills, KY
Prayer: Please pray for our cat Jake. He was a kitten living under our friend's deck about three years ago and we adopted him. Although he is very friendly with me and my husband, he is still very skittish when other people are in the house. We want him to be relaxed and meet new people. Also, we just adopted a guinea pig named Bella. She was owned by a 4-year-old who was a little too rough with her. Please pray that she can know that she is safe now and that she can be happy. Please pray that Jake and Bella get along with each other too.
Bill
Owner: Kelly Ort, Manchester, PA
Prayer: This is our Shih Tzu, Bill, who is 19 years old! I know, it's unreal! He's can't see too well and can barely hear, but despite his old joints he loves life. We know he can't live forever and I am asking for prayers that when it is his time that it's quick and painless.
Rayme
Owner: Denise Wheeler, Cypress, TX
Prayer: Rayme turns 12 years old this month. I've had her since she was just a few weeks old. She was diagnosed with heartworms about 3 years ago and is now free of them, but it has left her lungs damaged. The vet showed me pictures and they are black. She has a dry cough that the medicine doesn't seem to be helping any longer. She's having trouble breathing. I have 2 other old girls I've had between 12 and 14 years that I love dearly as well, but Rayme has a very sweet and special disposition. Please pray God's healing of her lungs. He is the only hope for her recovery. Thank you all in advance! God bless you and your four-legged family members abundantly.
Mother Abbey Raven
Owner: Cherel WhiteHawk, Great Falls, MT
Prayer: Mother Abbey Raven is a wonderful mother to all those in the neighborhood. Many years ago she came to us, and decided we belonged to her. Although her first family did not take care of her, they realized she loved us... She would not be alive today because of her physical problems, due to neglect before we took over her care. Now she has Rheumatoid Arthritis, with major pain and is overweight. Abbey is a wonderful mother/ family member and friend to all. I want to help her live an active life until it is time for her to return to the Sacred Father. She needs prayers to help her overcome the pain and have a healthy, happy life until her time to cross over. I cannot express how wonderful and loving she is and how she has always been a mother to all the four-legged and two-legged children in the neighborhoods.
Freddy
Owner: Pauline Scalice, Dumont, NJ
Prayer: I pray that Freddy will eat more as he's a very finacky eater and is rather thin. He also has some fears which I hope he overcomes.
Willow
Owner: Kathleen McAlpine, Hoven, SD
Prayer: We were to pick up a new dog in the Moses Lake, WA area, unfortunately she and her mother escaped a few days before my husband got there to pick her up. Please pray she will be found and we can still get her. She is a 5-year-old red and white female Cocker Spaniel and answers to Willow.
LuLu
Owner: Rebecca Very-Clair, Naples, FL
Prayer: My wonderful little girl LuLu has been through a lot in her 10 years of life. She had major surgery on her liver as a puppy, several serious illnesses and has a very touchy digestive system as well. She is feeling poorly and will not eat anything! Please help me pray for her return to good heath and happiness! She is a little angel with fur! Thank you, Rebecca
Macho
Owner: Stephanie Hall, New York, NY
Prayer: For my dog Macho. He is a 4 years old and was recently given to me by a single mother of a 3-month-old baby that felt overwhelmed by the pressure of a newborn and a dog. Macho has had big adjustments to make and has been doing great with the changes. The only challenge we face is that he has major separation anxiety. He cries and howls when we leave the apartment and it's not for 15-20 min. It goes on for hours according to my neighbors. We have someone come midday to visit him and walk him, but once she leaves it begins again. It breaks our hearts to know that he is crying and howling long after we have gone to work. Please pray for Macho that he gets over the anxiety of being alone and calms down. Other than that he is the sweetest thing and we adore him!
Keona
Owner: Mary Bowers, Bond Head, OH
Prayer: Please pray for my Keona. He is a 10-year-old Shar Pei suffering from arthritis. He is no longer able to run with his friends, and is quite sad. The spark is gone from his eyes. Keona has already outlived the normal life expectancy for his breed, I would just like his last days with me to be pain free and him to be able to run again, and do whatever dogs do.
Penny
Owner: Sue Guzman, Waterford, NJ
Prayer: Today our dear friend Penny will be joining our Forever Angels at the Rainbow Bridge...his battle was long and he won all of our hearts. Please keep his precious Momma Lisa in your prayers during this difficult time. Thank you, Sue
Millie & Edward
What a joy it is to see all these wonderful prayers and fabulous pictures of your pets. Thank you and please keep them coming. I visit the page every day and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me and what a great opportunity it is to focus my prayers on the needs of others. One thing I’d love to see, though—more variety of pets (not that I don’t love cats and dogs). I know they’re out there!—Edward
Lando
Owner: Laura McGaffey, Pearce, AZ
Prayer: The day I watched the video of Edward Grinnan talking about this new "prayer circle" for our pets, I was determined to post a request for our Miniature Pinscher, Lando. Apparently, that was enough as within a couple of days events took place that resulted in what looks to have been a fulfillment of my request.
You see, we have had Lando for eight years now and for that entire time he has had an alpha male problem with my husband, barking at him for coming into the same room as me, sitting on the floor as if to protect me, etc.
For the last two days, he has been great. It all stopped. I will admit that I had gotten very frustrated two days ago and told my husband I'd had it, that I demanded he and Lando "become friends." And suddenly it was as if Lando understood that message perfectly too. He has been acting "friendly" to my husband.
So, thank you, Mr. Grinnan. I believe my intention to upload a prayer request was heard and answered even before I got a chance to take action on this new thread.
Patches and Sweetie
Owner: Shannon Goodrich, Sterling Heights, MI
Prayer: We adopted Patches and Sweetie (all black) from Kitty Haven four years ago. When Sweetie and his sibs were brought to the Haven they had no mother so Patches' mother nursed them. Patches and Sweetie truly believe they are brothers despite their 10-lb. difference! We learned last year that our very 'fraidy cat, Sweetie, has a kidney stone and kidney disease. He also gets recurrent urinary tract infections. We love our furbabies very much and would like to request prayers for total healing of Sweetie's kidney disease. We pray that God would help keep him pain free too! Thank you!
Dazie, Copper, Penny and Sugar
Owners: Connie, Darrell and Ariel Whitaker, Louisville, KY
Prayer: My concern is for our three long-hair Chihuahuas and our cat Sugar. We have had our dogs quite awhile and had to have one put down last year (Pepper). She's in heaven. Recently we added a new little sister to make them three again!
We have Dazie (black & white, 12); Copper (tan & white, 8); and the newest addition, Penny (3 months, brownish-gold, some black & white). I forgot how trying potty training can be! My other two dogs help me with her though! They're all great!
Sugar, (gray, tiger-striped, 10) is not happy with the new addition and has always had problems urinating on the carpet in my daughter's room and living room. My husband wants her gone and my daughter and I have begged and pleaded thus far but one more mess-up and shes out. Pray for our whole situation! What a great idea this is.
Heidi
Owner: Carol Terry, Epworth, GA
Prayer: Please pray for my Heide. She is 14, has a tumor on her spleen that cannot be operated on and a compressed disc in her back. She is not eating so I fear that "her time" is near. Please pray that it will be a peaceful passing and she will not be in pain. It is so hard to lose them.
Kayla
Owner: Jocelyne Dutcher, Rome, NY
Prayer: Our family has a beautiful four and a half-year-old Golden Retiever. About two months ago she started to act different. She'd pace all the time with her head down and bump into things. We took her to an emergency vet service and it was found that she was empacted because she hadn't defacated for quite awhile. They gave her and enima to help clean her out. She was a little better, but still not quite herself.
The following Monday we took her to her regular vet and it was found that she also had vaginitis and was treated with an antibiotic. But she still was not herself, not responding normally—still walking aimlessly in circles and not responding to her name, tilting to one side and even eating out of one specific side of her food bowl.
It came down to a determination that she either had seizures or more likely a stroke. We were told that from her symptoms and not being able to afford the cost of a brain MRI, we could surmise that she may have had a stroke.
She is starting to show some signs of coming back to her normal self. Please pray for Kayla that through some miracle she will fully recover and return to the happy, loving and energetic dog we know and love.
Zacchaeus
Owner: Carol Kyer, Meadow Creek, ID
Prayer: Zacchaeus has a lump on his left hind quarter—about the size of a quarter—and it has been there at least one year. I am finally going to have it scoped; my prayer is that it will not be cancer. He is only 2 years old. Please pray for us. I am a widow and my two dogs are all my family. I am so scared I can't afford the cancer treatments that can run literally into thousands... Please Jesus let it not be cancer. Thank you Lord and thank you all who are praying for us.
Kookie
Owner: Bonnie Hayes, Kansas City, MO
Prayer: Kookie has a large knot above her eye and allergies on her skin that causes open soars on her backside.
Winston and Lemon
Owner: Mary Gilmartin, Providence, RI
Prayer: I am fostering two dogs and need to find forever homes for them. They are two brothers, both lovable. Winston (the darker brown one) and Lemon (the lighter beige color). Working with a shelter but they have not been adopted yet.
Princess Di
Owner: Lillian McLeod, Green Valley, AZ
Prayer: Please pray for my 5-year-old Princess Di. Her daddy (my husband) passed away eight months ago and I had to move from Florida to Arizona to be with my grown children. All these changes have taken a toll on her even though I give her lots of love and attention. She doesn't understand where all her familiar places and friends went. Please pray for her to be happy again.
Jake
Owner: Kimberly Platt, Escondido, CA
Prayer: Please pray for Jake to lose weight without putting him through a lot of changes and that he live a very long, healthy life. (I need prayer for the same actually)...I have had this dog for almost nine years (next month is his birthday), and he keeps me going. He just had a lump removed from his leg and right now he has a broken tooth that I can't afford to fix. Please keep him lifted up. THANK YOU!
Crown
Owner: Deena Clibbens, Flower Mound, TX
Prayer: Please pray for my 12-year-old black Lab, Crown. He has severe arthritis and he went down in October and could barely walk. I have been taking him to an animal chiropractor, which has been a miracle for him. I was praying for him to make it through last Christmas and he's still going. We lost our yellow Lab, Harley, very suddenly in May and we are still trying to adjust to that. She was our healthy girl and almost 10 when she became paralyzed, literally overnight. Please pray for Crown's continued health and happiness and for me that I can do what's best for him.
Caleb
Owner: Lisa Scobey, Lake Mary, FL
Prayer: Please pray for our dog Caleb! He is a 10 and a half-year-old Jack Russell/Boxer mix and has a couple of lumps on his body, the biggest on the back of his neck. He's a rescue pet that I told my husband he could get, but then I ended up falling in love with him and he's now become "my dog"! :) We've been through soooo much together and he's always been there for me, loving me unconditionally. I really feel that pets are "hugs from God!" The vet wants to do surgery to see what the lumps are, but we're stretched to the limit financially right now, so all we can do is pray for him. I do believe in miracles so that's what I'm praying for! Please pray with me.
Butter
Owner: Tory Silver, Washington, D.C.
Prayer: I would greatly appreciate prayer for my cat Butter. She is 17 and has been an incredible blessing in my life for all of those years. I recently graduated from law school while working full time, she was my comfort and companion through all four years of stress. Recently her appetite has dramatically decreased and she has been losing weight. The vet has discovered a possible mass around her upper intestines. She also needs to have a tooth removed. It is her loss in appetite that concerns me the most since the vet is uncertain whether the mass is something to be concerned about. Thank you for your prayers! God bless you!
Randie
Owner: Beverly Moehling, Des Plaines, IL
Prayer: Randie, was an abused dog that was dropped off on our property 12 years ago. Last week we had to have her put to sleep. We figured her age to be between 15 and 17. She was the center and joy of our lives. Does God take dogs to heaven? Thank you for any prayers of comfort.
Daisy
Owner: Jean Porter, Howell, MI
Prayer: Daisy is a Boston Terrier rescue dog soon to be 12. She is a three-time cancer survivor and is now having difficulty breathing. She has mini seizures that prevent her from getting adequate air, sometimes up to 20 mintues and we have almost lost her several times in the last month. Please pray that we will be able to continue to revive her. God bless you.
Tucker
Owner: Jenny Gabor, Petaluma, CA
Prayer: Please pray for Tucker, my 10-year-old Queensland mix as he is going to have surgery on Wednesday for a torn ligament in his knee. In addition to Tucker's physical challanges he has experienced an emotional loss. We lost our Hallie girl, Tucker's lifetime companion, a year ago and he hasn't seen the same zeal for life since. Tucker is quite the independant guy, but we are going to consider adopting a new brother or sister for him once he has recovered from his surgery. We appreciate your continued prayers for Tucker during his recovery from both physical and emotional recovery.
Gus
Owner: Amanda Burrola, Winslow, AZ
Prayer: My Gus is 15 years old. He is healthy as an ox and the vet told us that he will probably just die of old age—only problem is he has arthritis really bad. I give him Advil four times a day, sometimes more. If I miss a dose he lays outside and cries and yelps till I go out and give him his meds... After awhile he tramples around like a puppy! As long as he has meds he is fine... He poops and pees as he walks. NO CONTROL of bowels or bladder, so he has to stay outside... I don't believe in euthanization, and my vet doesn't feel the need to do it, because he is perfectly healthy, he just has arthritis... So I want prayer for God to heal my Gus of his arthritis! God bless you all.
Lucy
Owner: Stella Montoya, Hacienda Heights, CA
Prayer: Please pray for my Lucy who sometimes runs out of any open door and runs around the neighborhood. Please help me pray that God looks over her and keeps her safe from moving cars or any harm that might come to her. My prayer is that she live a long, happy life in my home where she is so very much loved.
Quazi
Owner: Joey Hooper, Aurora, CO
Prayer: I pray that my Quazi, an almost 13-year-old Rotty mix is not sick. I came home from work this morning and she had vomitted and had an upset stomach in the house. She also did not want to eat her breakfast. I lost her brother in February to cancer and now I am in a constant state of fear and worry. I know she is getting older but I just want her for a while longer... like another 20-30 years. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Terry T
Owner: Linda Alfson, Orange Park, FL
Prayer: Terry T is having to undergo Heartworm treatments after testing negative last year when we rescued him in late March and was always on the preventative medication every month. He came up positive this April when he was in for his annual vaccinations and Heartworm test. He is such a wonderful boy, an "angel in fur" to me. Please pray for him to continue to survive these next treatments at the end of August and September.
KitKat and M&M
Owner: Karen Brandt, Atlanta, GA
Prayer: I am so thankful for these two kitties that "strayed" into my life. I hope that I make them as happy as they make me.
Bella and Cheeco
Owner: Carolynn Harrison, Scottsdale, AZ
Prayer: Bella our white Beagle is suffering from seasonal allergies to the extent her belly turns so red, I feel like she's just gonna scratch herself to death. She's on a special food diet (ZD) and I give her meds for it...but she is suffering. Cheeco is
15 and a half years young! He has had a hole in his cornea for about five months. I don't have money to take him in for a checkup and his five eye drops are running out. He doesn't deserve to suffer. He's been a source of comfort for me those entire 15 and a half years...please pray for him.
Bridget
Owner: Judi Rogers, Chesapeake, VA
Prayer: I would like for your readers to pray for healing for my 10-year-old Siberian Husky Bridget who has Cushing's disease. She is dealing with a lot of adjustments to her medications and I pray that those adjustments go smoothly and that she is spared from any suffering from the effects of the drugs. She is a wise old dog who is much loved along with three other dogs in my home. Thank you.
Gomer
Owner: Joy Dawson, San Ramon, CA
Prayer: Prayer request for Gomer. Our 9-year-old pug has had a constant eye infection for the last year in his right eye. We have tried every kind of eye drops without any results. We faithfully clean his eye each day, but nothing works. The vet says he is almost completely blind in this eye and his tear duct is dry. He is a happy guy and enjoys his family and fellow pug buddy Bosco, but it would be great to have some relief for Gomer.
Shiloh
Owners: Susan and Daryl Glenday, Romeo, MI
Prayer: We would appreciate prayer for our 13-year-old Lab/Rot mix, Shiloh. She was sent by God Himself to comfort us in 1996 when we had lost three of our parents and our beloved dog of 15 years. She was fine until 10 days ago when her appetite was lacking. She became increasingly finicky and would not eat or drink. After tests at the vet, it was determined she has stage III kidney disorder. She was hospitalized this morning as she was dehydrated and weak. Please pray that the meds they are administering work to their full capacity and that she is returned to a quality health. We know God has a time for her to go be with Him, but we would like her to have a couple more years with us. She's our angel in a puppy suit! Thank you and know we will pray for your beloved pets.
Halo
Owner: Mona Donkers, Monterey, CA
Prayer: Please pray for Halo, the golden colored one. She is having accidents in the house and seems to be afraid of going outside. I don't have the money for the vet right now. Also for Dodger, that he continues to be a good companion for our family.
Jenna
Owner: Paula Lippe, Fort Worth, TX
Prayer: Please pray for our sweet Jenna. The past couple years she has dealt with allergies. We've gone through different medicines which have helped. For the past couple of months it has gotten significantly worse. She wheezes, coughs, sometimes vomits a little. The medicines we have now only help slightly; it's no way for her to live. The sinus issues even make her eyes water and it looks like she's crying. We don't have the money to take her to the vet to get all the necessary tests/medicines. Please pray with us that she will get better and that we will have the money to take her to the vet.
Zoey
Owner: Mary Lanning, Seneca, SC
Prayer: Please pray for Zoey that she will be heartworm negative and have no problems. Also, please pray for Zoey that her left rear leg gets better and her lameness goes away and stays healthy. God bless her and keep her always please. Thank you for blessing our lives with Zoey.
Trooper
Owner: Jennifer Cole, Langhorne, PA
Prayer: Trooper is a wonderful, loving dog. He's had three cruciate ligament surgeries and his knees are doing well. But now his right shoulder hurts after he's gotten in and out of the car. And he loves to ride in the car! Please pray for healing for Trooper's shoulder. Also, now that he has passed his Therapy Dog evaluations, please ask for guidance to the situation where Trooper and I can help the most. Blessings!
Henry
Submitted by: Millie Hurley, Woodbridge, VA
Prayer: Please pray for my little granddog, he belongs to my daughter. His name is Henry and he is the cutest pug in the the whole world. My daughter just found out he has an enlarged heart and liver problems. He is only 2 and a half years old. My daughter rescued him last year and has taken very good care of him and has given him a lot of love.
Brandy
Owner: Lori Burback, Kewaskum, WI
Prayer: Please pray for Brandy. She is 15 and a half years old and has been diagnosed with bone cancer. We have only had her about a year and a half, but we feel that God has truly blessed us with her presence here in our lives. Help us to know when it is the right time to say goodbye.
Smoke
Owner: Eric Nieves, Summitville, NY
Prayer: This is Smoke. He is a 6-year-old Siberian Husky. He has started having an issue with limping on his front paw. Please pray that God will heal him and make him healthy. He has been such a blessing since my father rescued him from an abusive home. Because of his upbringing, he has been a challenge, having food agression at times, and being unsure of new things. Thank you all and God bless you!!
Josie
Owner: Deanna Emineth, Pensacola, FL
Prayer: We are full-time RVers and stopped in Leavenworth, WA Monday, 8/3/09, to buy groceries. When we arrived in Newport, WA 7 hours later, we discovered our 11-year-old, short-haired, tuxedo cat, Josie, was gone; we assume she jumped out at the Safeway store in Leavenworth when we were putting food away. We pray that someone will call to our many calls and ads, or at the least she will be adopted by a loving, caring family that will continue to give her a pampered, loving life. P.S. Lucy, our dog, and Lil, our other cat, also miss her very much.
Mesha
Owner: Ella Kathryn, Lubbock, TX
Prayer: Mesha is afraid of people; she will hide under the bed sometimes when we have company. If she can be close to me, she will stay in the room, but if someone tries to pet her or get close she runs away. She is also an Australian Shepherd, very smart and a little rebellious. She can jump up on the fence and escape the backyard. The fence is wooden; 7' tall. It scares me to leave her outside with the other dog. She will run all over the neighbor and ignore me. She is 3 years old and a beautiful dog. Thanks for prayers for her and that I can be a better parent.
Lucy
Owner: Cynthia Bessiere, Lansdale, PA
Prayer: I would ask a prayer request for Lucy to continue to stay as sweet and loveable as she can be. God bless our sweet little Lucy.
Miss Chief
Owners: Cathy and John Quinlan, Parkland, FL
Prayer: Please pray for our precious 10-year-old Miss Chief. She was diagnosed with Cushings Disease about 18 months ago and has had good and bad periods since then. We pray that she is comfortable and happy and we surrender her to God's care (and our team of God's helpers).
Miss Alice
Owner: Robert A. Thompson, San Diego, CA
Prayer: Lord, my Master, or at least the person that feeds me, is writing this pray for me. The two of us live alone and we at times are lonesome. As a pet I admit that I haven't been much fun for him, I don't know any tricks (I just never see any need to learn the silly things) and I'm not about to play fetch—all that running and I don't get to keep the ball. Even though I'm not a barrel of fun, I am a good watchdog, if I'm not sleeping, I can really "BARK", I bark at anything that moves. Please Lord let me, a 12-year-old, 85-lb. Pit Bull live a happy and pain-free life until you need me to bark someplace else. Signed "Miss Alice" P.S. Please Lord give the guy who feeds me patience.
Tulla
Submitted by: Maria Williams, New York, NY
Prayer: This is actually my 13-year-old daughter's dog and she is devastated that she is so sick. We would appreciate your prayers.
Abigail
Owner: Kathy Harn, San Marcos, CA
Prayer: I think this prayer request is more for me then my dog. I have a two-month-old puppy named Abigail. I am in the process of potty training her to go outside. I am asking for prayer during this time of training that she learns quickly and for me to have more patience while training her. God bless.
Franky
Owner: Betsy Stoker, Felton, CA
Prayer: Please pray for my cat, Franky, this week. I am about to go out of town and I fear he may not make it through the week. He has been terminal and seems to be nearing his time. I pray for the good Lord to watch over him, and keep him safe and comforatable until my return. But if it becomes his time, I pray that His guiding hands will provide a painless, quiet passing. I love my little Banky.
Hoover
Owner: Kim Tillson, Greeneville, TN
Prayer: Please pray for my dog Hoover who was struck and killed by a car Tuesday August 4, 2009. He was such loyal and faithful companion. I miss his bright blue beautiful eyes and constantly being by my side. The loss has been unbearable.
Pooh Bear
Owner: Sara Studebaker, Loveland, OH
Prayer: Our 14-year-old Westie, Pooh Bear, has been living with diabetes since October. With the help of our wonderful vet, her sugar levels are under control. Now she has developed "dry-eye syndrome" in her left eye and we can see it causes her discomfort (plus she hates the ointment in her eye!). Please pray that the medications kickstart her immune system and tears are produced, and that we maintain control over her diabetes. Thank you and God bless.
Elita
Owner: Sally Richtmeyer, Goshen, CT
Prayer: Five years ago we were blessed with the addition of Elita (French for "precious one"), an "Angel Puppy", toy poodle, in our lives. She only weighed 2.5 lbs. and was seriously ill with an intestional parasite, causing us to almost lose her. Her arrival was God's perfect timing and she provided much emotional healing in our family. The past five years have been filled with increasing bouts of colonitis, causing her much discomfort. Please pray that we will receive clear guidance, and truly know what God's will is, as we continue to navigate diet testing and make the heartwrenching decision regarding the recommended endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Marley
Owner: Sharon Neura, Lakewood, OH
Prayer: Please pray for Marley, my two-year-old Labradoodle. Lately, he sustained a leg injury and has been on meds for inflammation and infection but may be facing a serious surgery. He's so vibrant, lots of energy and it's hard to see him "down and in pain" with this setback. I hope he'll be on the mend soon!!
Abbey
Owner: Annette Ervin, Farmington Hills, MI
Prayer: Abbey is a wonderful little girl. I found her on the streets of Detroit when she was smaller than a soda can. After 16 wonderful years together she has developed kidney disease, common in older cats. So now she is on 3 different kinds of medications and supplements and I have to administer subcutaneous fluids every other day. Eating is sporadic and she's lost a lot of weight. Please pray for her to accept the medications and treatments I have to give her and allow them to do their work to make her feel better and therefore want to eat. I have always said that God dropped this little one in front of me for a reason. Just want her to be comfortable and happy through this chronic disease.
Radar
Owner: Sandy Hampton, Grand Prairie, TX
Prayer: Please pray for my Great Dane, Radar. He is only 14 months old and has been sickly since we got him. He is so lovable and gentle. He is underweight and has chronic demodex problems and a compromised immune system. We have to coax him to eat and he just looks so sad all the time. We got him a year after we put down our Lab/Dane mix of 13 years. I hate the thought of losing Radar! I pray that God heals my poor baby.
Tasha
Owner: John Scalice, Dumont, NJ
Prayer: Tasha was taken from her mother too soon and has many fears, especially when it thunders. She goes hiding and is very scared. She also has a tough time excepting affection. She also is slightly overweight as she loves to eat.
Sebastian
Owner: Vicki Grooms, Myrtle Beach, SC
Prayer: Please pray for my cat, Sebastian. He has suffered with some sort of respiratory infection ever since I got him from a shelter. He's sneezy and gets ear infections that the vet never seems to totally get rid of. The shelter had him from infancy, and he's now 4, totally attached to his mommy (it's just me and him). Please give him some relief.
Dylan
Owner: Megan Stocker, Warren, OH
Prayer: Dylan is my "rescue" cat. I adopted him in February 2009 from Second Chance Animal Rescue. He's somewhere around two or three years old, and he has a wonderful personality. It has been my husband's and my decision that Dylan will be strictly an inside cat. However, Dylan seems to want to be outside occasionally. My prayer for Dylan would be that he will adjust to being an inside cat, and that if he does sneak out, he will return safely. Thank you.
Ginger
Owner: Paula Scalic, Dumont, NJ
Prayer: I pray that Ginger will live a long and healthy life.
Daniel
Submitted by: Robin Williams, Rock Hill, SC
Prayer: I am one of many, many rescuers across the country who try to save as many shelter dogs as possible. Please pray for all of our homeless animals, like the sweet boy in this photo, that they will find love and comfort. Also, please pray for strength and courage for the rescuers who face a heartbreaking battle each and every day. Thank you.
Baylee
Owner: Sandy Gilbert, Auburn, NH
Prayer: Please keep Baylee safe and healthy and with me for many years to come. And please ask that she stop jumping on EVERYONE!! She is a dear soul who loves the world.
Kyrie
Owner: Donna Musgrove, Boardman, OH
Prayer: Please pray for our 13-year-old Golden Retriever, Kyrie. She will have surgery Tuesday, August 11, to determine the extent of difficulties caused by a tumor that has just been found in possibly her liver or spleen. She has always been such a good girl, and has brought joy and a sense of "peace" to our family as well as all that have encountered her. She has "helped to raise" our four-year-old Chocolate Lab, Mousse, to have the same qualities as she possesses. We are hoping that with a lot of prayers and under the skillful hands of her doctor, she will be able to return home to us to recovery and spend the rest of her days in the same calm and gentle manner she has lived her life for the past 13 years. Thank you all so much for your prayers.
Sammy and Dagwood
Owner: Sue Neiman, New Albany
Prayer: Please pray for Sammy and Dagwood (I don't have photos). They are my brother's dogs, other than me he had no other family, he adored these dogs. My brother, Gary, passed away 8/1/09, and the dogs are depressed and are living with another family—I cannot began to tell you how much these pets meant to him. Thank you.
Lucky and Lacey
Owner: Miriam Dixon, Society Hill, SC
Prayer: Please pray for Lucky and Lacey, a brother and sister Chihuahua team, that they will learn to love my husband as much as they love and adore me. Lucky and Lacey were adopted by me from Second Chance K-9 Shelter in Florence, SC. An anonymous lady rescued them from a high kill shelter in Union, SC after being brought to the site from a puppy mill. They are "lucky" to be alive and I am blessed to now have them in my care. Lucky and Lacey are almost 4 years old, and are very affectionate towards me. Please pray that Lucky, the male Chihuahua, will become more affectionalte toward my husband Charles. Please pray also that my husband will be more affectionate toward Lucky and Lacey too, as he isn't as fond of pets as I am. I believe prayer works and am a strong advocate of prayer as a way to uplift specific problems to the Lord and wait patiently for the Lord's will and to answer prayer. I know the Lord wants what is best for our pets, as well as for ourselves.
Abbey
Owner: Donna Mooney, Spokane, WA
Prayer: I adopted my dog Abbey from a sanctuary last November. She is 8 years old and this is her first home. She has a chronic tick-borne disease called Ehrlichia that she contracted in 2004, and she is very ill right now. She has had to spend several days hosptalized and she and I have made numerous trips to vet, continually monitoring her and adjusting her many medications. Please pray for Abbey that this terrible disease goes into remission and that she may have a long and happy life. She has shown incredible strength and courage through all of this, and she is quite a little fighter. Your prayers are so appreciated.
Sammy
Owner: Sharon Cerkoney, Bismarck, ND
Prayer: Please pray for our Westie Sammy—she is having digestive and intestinal disease issues and is losing a lot of weight. Pray that she can start eating again and regain some weight and her health. She will be 11 in October.
Dakota
Owner: Lynn Costello, Philadelphia, PA
Prayer: Please pray for my Dakota. He is a 7-year-old German Shepherd who has hit many obstacles during his short time here on earth....He has had two knee surgeries, developed EPI pancreatic enzyme insufficiency and now he is having trouble walking again. Vet Hospital at the U of P says it is not his hips or legs, so we are waiting for a test result to see if there is anything wrong with his spine....He has just not been himself, and he is breaking my heart.
Cody
Owners: Bev and Jeff Hager, Beavercreek, OH
Prayer: Cody is a rescue dog with personality issues that we were blessed to be given from a relative. We got Roxie as a friend for him from the local humane society. We thank God daily that He has blessed us with wonderful friends who needed a warm loving home and have brought us great joy.
Merlin and Molly
Owner: Kathryn Hall, Atlanta, GA
Prayer: I must find a home for my two adult cats. It is breaking my heart, but if I can find a home where they will be safe and loved
I can make it. Rescued as kittens. Merlin: male, approx 9 years old, neutered, all shots, long black and white hair. Molly: female, approx 7.5-8 years old, spayed, all shots, short hair, Calico. Both very healthy. Please pray that the perfect new home will be located. Time is short.
Ozzie
Owner: Marjorie Jones, Huntsville, TX
Prayer: Please pray for my Golden Retriever Ozzie. He is almost 11 months old and is being trained for therapy work. He wants to bark when he sees another dog and he can't do that. He is doing very well in his obedience and learns very quickly. I hope that he can pass the therapy evaluation in October and join his big sister Jazzmine in therapy work.
Shannon
Owner: Bobbie Samme, Florence, WI
Prayer: My Sheltie, Shannon, recently had two toes amputed on his right foot due to a tumor that was growing between them. He is recovering nicely, but is still wearing his bandage. He will have to wear it for three weeks and he appears to be in quite a bit of pain. Please pray for his full recovery. Thank you so much.

Miss America
Owner: Kathi Case, Midland, TX
Prayer: In June we moved from NM to TX when my husband was tranferred with his job. Miss America is very special to us. Sometime between Monday night July 27 and Tuesday morning July 28, she left our backyard and has not returned. Please pray that if she is still alive and being cared for, that we would have a response to our lost & found ad. We are losing hope and afraid something has happened to her and she is not coming back to us. We were blessed enough to have 5 years with a very special friend, but we are heartbroken. Thank you for your prayers.
Penny
Sent in by: Alina Larson, New York, NY

Bella
Owner: Mo Mullins, Marietta, GA
Prayer: Our baby Bella, we have only had her for 4 days and are trying to housebreak her and crate train her. Please pray that she will learn quickly as we all go back to school and work soon.
Wyatt
Owner: Shelley Tancil, San Diego, CA
Prayer: Wyatt will run and play, but when he is on the leash, he locks up. He will only walk on the leash; no trotting or running. I am worried that someday we may need to run, and I want him to feel comfortable. He is a little afraid of loud trucks, skateboards or things going by him fast. Please pray fo his fears to lessen and let him enjoy running on the leash. Thank you and God bless you and your animals!
Angel Joy
Owner: Mary Gulledge, Akron, OH
Prayer: Please pray for my dog Angel Joy. She is recovering from having four non-cancerous fatty tissue tumors removed. She is also a cancer survivor. In January she had three inches of her jawbone removed due to a cancerous mass. The post surgical biopsy came back negative...a true blessing and gift from God. She is such a blessing to us and is the mascot of the Ourprayer.org online chat room prayer group.
Mister, Sissy and Ozzie
Owner: Donna Marie Miller, Concord, NC
Prayer: I have 2 kittens: Mister and Sissy and one adult cat Ozzie, about 4 years old. They are not listening to us about staying off of the counters, stove, sink etc., and the kittens keep stealing food. Please pray that they learn quickly to stay off of all of the counters in the house and the stove and sinks.
Also, I just found a kitten who is 24 hours old. We don't know who the mother is, as my Mom has all but one cat fixed. It was born last night and we are learning as we go. Please pray that it surives. I would be so happy to have it grow up and be healthy.
Tammi
Owner: Diane Collins, Woodland, CA
Prayer: Please pray for our dog Tammi. She cut her face on Saturday and it required 8 staples to close it. We don't know how she did it, but she has been scratching her face for a few weeks. Our vet has told us that it's very difficult to pinpoint or even determine if it is an allergy. Please pray for her healing and to be calm when she has to wear her "lampshade" collar.
Brandy
Owner: Janice Lusk, Lewisburg, PA
Prayer: Please pray for Brandy to be able to lose a little weight. She has gained weight and it is affecting her health. We have gotten special food and we are walking her but it seems like it is very slow. We want her to be healthy so we want to do our best at this. She is 36 lbs. and she should be about 30.
Button
Owner: Cindy Braun, Modesto, CA

Prayer: Ping has a sore leg and back.
Gwen
Owner: Virginia Rebyak, Bear, DE
Prayer: I ask the good Lord to bless my three Labs, Gwen, 10, who has arthritis and my two one-year-old boys that they are blessed with many years of good health. I also ask the good Lord to bless the souls of our departed Labs, Jill and Jake. We lost our Jill almost 10 years ago to lymphosarcos and our Jake in March of 2008 to the same. God knows how well we take care of our dogs and how heartbreaking it is when we lose them. All three are wonderful companions to myself, my husband and my mother who lives with us.
Roscoe
Owner: Alice DeVaughn, Plainview, MN
Prayer: Please pray that my dog, Roscoe, will heal quickly from his surgery he had Monday. He had a large growth on his neck that we were afraid was cancer but praise God...it was only a fluid sack. Thank you.
Pumpkin
Owner: Leslie Gala, Ferndale, MI
Prayer: Please pray for my boxer Pumpkin. She was seized from a puppy mill and had a horrible life before I adopted her. Her separation anxiety is the worst my vet has ever seen and he's not giving me much hope. He recommends putting her down. Even with anti-anxiety drugs she is ripping through screens and windows, breaking out of crates and reduced a solid oak door to toothpicks. Please pray for healing from her separation anxiety and her crate training and for me to have strength and wisdom to get through this.
Pepper
Owner: Chris Parkman, Woodstock, GA
Prayer: My prayer is for Pepper's tumors to stop growing and for her to receive healing. Her throat is too small to be intubated for surgery. Thank you Lord that she isn't in pain and I put her in your healing hands.
Brownie

Prayer: My dog suffers from separation anxiety. Would you pray that she will grow out of it?
Harley
Owner: Allison Ruffing, Michigan City, IN
Prayer: Please pray for my new cat, Harley—he injured one of his paws and had to go to the vet. Thankfully, his wound did not need stitches, but he has to take antibiotics, and he was treated for ear mites and has to go back in 2 weeks for another ear treatment. (He's a stray I just adopted; has lived outside his whole life but is adjusting very well to being allowed indoors.) Please pray he heals quickly!
