I have been participating in an active, supportive, magazine based, forum for quite a while now and I was really excited to see that Guideposts would have one, because I love the magazine and my Daily Guidepost, and often feel that guideposts is a community already. In fact Guideposts is as much a part of my spiritual practice as my church is. At backpacker.com, where I also post as echo, I can't put up a post without getting replies and lots of people reading it. Here, I feel like a lonely echo with only a few other voices, yet I don't want to give up. So who else is here? let me introduce myself a bit and see if anyone else will.
I am a Mom, a wife, a writer and a teacher. More, I'm a mom to two High School boys, only a year apart, one adopted, one biological, both REALLY Mine! I am a wife who married young, luckily to the right man and so had our 25th anniversary this year. I write magazine articles and kids picture books and a middle grade fantasy book, but don't do much about trying to publish yet. I paint and sketch and take non stop Photographs. I write long letters and lots of facebook and forum entries. I taught severely handicapped kids for 10 years and now have substituted for 10 years. I live in the Pacific Redwoods and love to hang out at the river, but I grew up by Yellowstone and my Dad's family hails from Pittsburgh.
SO???
Hello. HELLO!! Anyone out there?
AllisonR, on twitter, that name gets a woman from Sidney australia. I'm on there as Pandorasecho, because the name was the name of my favorite horse and Twitter wouldn't allow just Echo
Thank you! You made me smile just to see some response here. My Grandma used to give me guideposts, and even though she has been dead a long time now, Every time the magazine comes, it feels like a gift from her.
Hello Echo...I am out here!
I am a wife and writer (not a mom yet) who lives in Northwest Indiana, but grew up as a military kid moving from place to place. Have loved Guideposts for years, especially the animal and Mysterious Ways stories. I am working on my first novel, and I also spend a lot of time blogging, twittering, and teaching myself Web design. :)
LOL, I guess if I say I'm on Twitter I need to give my @ name! I'm actually @amp1976 on there. :-)
