Lunch Date

There are some days when the kids do nothing but fight, make messes, and tell me they're bored.

Sometimes, instead of endless interventions, it's better to just take the kids out of the house for a change in scenery. 

One day, when my two youngest kids were bored and getting into mischief, I loaded them up and headed to McDonald's to meet a friend for lunch. They needed a little change in routine and I needed to talk to another adult. It was a fun afternoon for all.

The Tooth Pull

I'm not just a mom. I'm a cook, a driver, a cheerleader, a shoulder to cry on, and apparently a pretty good dentist on the fly.

With six kids comes a lot of loose teeth and in this video you'll see me helping along my daughter's wiggly tooth with a gentle little tug. She's such a good sport!

Dinnertime

People always say dinnertime is when families should sit together and talk about their day. But it’s a small miracle if everyone is sitting at the table for more than 10 minutes in my house!

Still, with all the chaos surrounding me, I cherish the moments—no matter how short—I have to catch up with my kids, because they’ll be all grown up before I know it.

The Play

I love being a mom more than anything, but now and then, it's nice to get out of the house and do something for myself. 

Once a year, the drama group at my church does a dinner-theater show. In this video I'm rehearsing for this play that I'm in.

The Book Arrives!

I just got a box of my first published book in the mail!

It's been 14 years in the making and I couldn't be more excited to actually see it in print. I decided to auction off a signed copy on eBay.com since that's where this whole thing got started when I signed up to auction off an old baseball and received a big response—which eventually led to the creation of my blog.
